Endless Ends

Depends on the terrain . . . fairly level w/o rocks, then trail runners. If hilly or fairly steep, then boots. A pair of each for my hikes in the mtns here.
Oh, okay. So you do both?

I think I'm going to do some local day trip hiking, to get used to a pack and such. Maybe for that I'll get some trail runners. 🤔
 
For the AT? Boots. Preferably water resistant, there will be creeks to cross.
Then, once I'm in good enough shape to tackle segments on the Appalachian Trail, switch to boots. At which point I should be better able to handle the added weight from the previous training. 🤔
