Hey folks. I'm sure SW will have better details than I, or even pleaz perhaps, but I do know some things... I spoke with pleaz and she told me that Neo's daughter came out of surgery and has pins, needles, plates in her ankles. I don't recall how many, but perhaps later when they are able someone can let us know. They were having trouble controlling her nausea, so they switched her pain medicine and that may help her out. They are hoping to release her tomorrow from the hospital.

Red, thank you so much. I was starting to worry since I haven't heard anything. I hope they make it home all right and the poor kid is comfortable.

I know it's been very rough for them all. 
It's going to be very frustrating I'm sure. From what pleaz was able to tell me, she'll have to be off her feet for six weeks.

Hey all ... I was with Wenchie and Nero when they got the call ... after an extremely hectic early morning I may have been muttering mumbling stumbling and stuttering 
Daughter only broke one ankle, but she broke 3 bones in the one ankle. She has a plate, 2 pins, and 5 screws. Wenchie and Nero have gotten a bit of rest and some family members stopped by to help out for a bit.
Wenchie and Nero are hoping daughter will be released tomorrow, it just depends upon the pain medicine/nasuea mix she has going on. As soon as she is able to keep food down she will be released and will come home with Wenchie and Nero for a few weeks.
I'll be sure to pass this thread on to both of them and let them know of everyone's kind thoughts and words.

Phew! With one broken ankle you can navigate on crutches. With two, you're bedridden. And believe me, one is enough, especially if it's shattered enough to require the kind of repair you've described. Ghastly!

She's already been up and walking on crutches to prepare herself. Her college studies are very helpful with her recovery also.
