Emoticon assistance

I miss the days when you could make the tongue frog appear upside down.

Isn't that what a lot of posters did when they deleted a lot of their content?

They frogged themselves?

More internet myths and/or customs.

Yes. Which is not to be confused with frigging oneself, which is commonplace here also.

Avery_Chisholm was a poster who tended to overuse the eyeroll emoticon until it was just called an :avery: by other posters, if I am correct.
Avery always used an icon as well. These are the thumbs-up or down, light bulb, question mark, alarm sign and others that appear along the bottom of the message composing pane.

Naw, it's okay. It's an acceptable spelling your part of the world. I SUPPOSE. *humph*

I definitely want a humph emote.

Personally, I think we need to petition for an emote-overhaul.
The existing ones simply do not cover it anymore!
A 'humph' emote would be great, plus a squinty-eye one, a face-slap, and a drooling one as well.

Oh! Like to label her posts themselves? I don't think I've ever done that.

Agreed. I want a cheese one and a cunt one.

I am posting this just to see if it can be done inside a thread.
And there you go!

There's another forum I visit that also uses Vbulletin and has way more smilies, some would go down very well with our gun lovers..

Oh, I know. I once had to proofread a Terry Pratchett novel for re-publication.

AAAUGH! LOOK AT ALL THE STUFF I CAN'T FIX! AAAAUGH!

I'm the same when I read a book that's been written by an American author, I twitch a little at every non UK spelling of words.

If it's vbulletin, you should be able to spell out the emote and it will show up here.
I thimk.

I feel your pain. I edit from typists all over the world. Fortunately Word has spell checkers for different styles.

So a typist in India can type in "flavour" and will get a heads up that they are clearly in the wrong country even if they're in the right country.

Medical stuff is surprisingly idiomatic though. Nobody in India or China is going to get that a car accident in America can be classified as a specific type called "T-boned" or that there's such a thing as a "candy-cane stirrup" on an operating table.

I fill in the blanks and have a nice giggle.
