Been doing ok. I'm currently on a Mass Effect gaming spree. Finished the first one last night and hubby was nice and bought me the second one yesterday, so I'm immersed in that currently

I'm up to my armpits in Mass Effect 3 right now. My wife has gotten so sick of those games that I can only play them when she's not home or asleep. I was playing it before logging into Lit and I got my ass handed to me!

I'm up to my armpits in Mass Effect 3 right now. My wife has gotten so sick of those games that I can only play them when she's not home or asleep. I was playing it before logging into Lit and I got my ass handed to me!

There's things I like with the second, and things I'm not happy about. I HATE the color scheme on the second. It's so ugly and hurts my eyes. I really don't like the script hacking thing (it's hard for me to see the colors and layout and match it up quick enough). I get why they might have thought the traveling in your little ship through space might be cool and different, but I think it's kind of silly and annoying... I liked being able to just jump to a place better. Also... no landing on planets and exploring in Mako so far?? WTF?! That was one of my favorite things to do in the first one! >.< I'd rather drive in Mako over rocky terrain to find stuff rather than do that lame scanning and probe thing.

I'm not too far in the story line yet. I've picked up Jack, Garrus, and Mordin. Getting ready to go get Dr. Okeer now.

First one I played on casual just so I could hurry and get through the story and move on to the next one. The second one I'm playing on normal

I've heard things. Read that there was money raised to try and get Bioware to change the ending, or at least give an alternate ending. A lot of unhappy people, sounds like.

I'm just going to go in it with the frame of mind that it's the journey that is important and not the ending

Most of what you've heard is correct. I, personally, enjoyed it a lot. The things you didn't like from 2 are still in there - point-and-click flying, and no Mako exploration, haha.

But the game itself is improved in every way over 2. Better combat, better dialogue, more immersive atmosphere, more heart-wrenching emotional moments. It's good stuff.

As long as you are having fun... I cannot belie people are protesting the ending, seems a little crazy. Its up to the writer / developer to destroy her / his product. People just need to relax a bit.....

It is a little crazy to get that upset. It's mainly because they invested all this time into 3 games making choices for this character, and then they get to the end and none of those choices even mattered (from what I've read .. I'm trying not to read too much about the ending, because I don't want to spoil it for myself).

Yep... it takes place around the 4th book (would be my guess)... one of the nights that they're stopped on the road of the path of the beam, and Roland tells them a couple of stories from his youth. I pre-ordered it, and it was shipped out today *woot!* Also, I submitted a pic for the cover of the book and it made the cover (out of many many many MANY other pix of others as well) Unfortunately, I didn't see that it was for the UK version, so I guess I'll eventually have to get a copy of that one as well

Ditto on the Constant Reader. I've been reading him since I was about 13. He was my idol as a teen. I wanted so much to write stories like him
Right now, I own 45 of his books (some I've had to replace.. as I either lost them over the years or they were damaged).
