Everyone needs to send emails to the webmasters as often as they can and demand that Chyoo 3 be created.

Now by as often as you can I mean at least once a day! Preferably many more times a day than that.

An excellent plan if your goal is to piss off the webmasters...

As frustrating as it is, I think we should remember that chyoo is a free service and the webmasters are under no obligation to provide it. Personally I'm grateful for the fact that it exists at all rather than in a mood to compplain.

Personally I'd be more interested in CHYOO getting loaded up with banner ads so it start generating some revenue and so get some attention. That or just some publicity so people actually realise it exist and traffic pick up.

Problem

I personally want two things:

The ability to have more than 4 children in a story (there are a bunch of places I want to put an addition, but can't since 4 people got there first). A good example of this is "Parallel Dimensions". The second thread drops no less than 50 possibilities, but unless the editor puts in a breakdown, we will only be able to follow 4 of them before exhausting the thread. It would work much better if we could just add as many threads as we want. You could always give the editor the option to lock the thread if things got out of hand, but having no option higher than 4 is just annoying.

I would like the navigation to work on text links, alla the UBEA, since I find having to click the radio buttons and then next annoying, and it is more likely to fail than a text link(bad web parsing). Also, with text links you could just use back without having to resend.

Actually, Murakami, you CAN have more than 4 options added to the thread. Read the CHYOO tips and Tricks thread to find out how.

Going through Hoops

It shouldn't take research and hoop jumping to do it. It should just work (see fiction branches for an example. no limit, add as much as you want, no tricks required). I didn't know about this board until a few days ago, since the 'Discuss' link on the site doesn't work.

On that note, why are there dead links in the main nav bar? Discuss, contact, and help are all just text, not links.

I just tried the trick from that thread and it always added to the thread I came from, no matter what I did to the number. The trick does not work, or at the very least the explanation is very confusing and I can't figure out how to make it work.

no.... just no...

Why would you want to do that? :O

Its a free site, which we are free to use :S

How would you feel if you baked the same cake for someone every year but then at one point said you would be making a new cake. But then after a few years never had enough time to design the new cake thus always kept making the same cake. At one point you bring this cake to that person and he just pisses all over it and says HEY! You said you would give me a different free cake!

I think you would get very pissed off ^^

So no, if anything i would send the webmaster emails THANKING him for the great site and for letting us have this fantastic free service!!!

If any of our volunteer site editors are listening, perhaps we need to keep rotating ownership of the Chyoo FAQ again? This would put it on the front page under 'New Stories' so people will be more likely to see it and be able to find the forums.

Because that's the way things were left after the Chyoo -> Chyoo 2 transition.

Speaking as someone who's been repeatedly successful at this trick, perhaps I should ask, *which number*?

1. Find the thread number you want to add to. Call it 99999 for example.
2. Replace 99999 with the actual thread number in this URL:
http://www.chyoo.com/index.php/member.thread.addedit/0/99999
Add your new thread choice, text, and followup question and save it.

That would be true if it weren't for the fact that this site could easily be updated to something more like literotica itself and they would be able to make considerable money from the advertising. So it would be a win win situation for us and them.

I find if you want to email someone in chyoo and you want to make sure that they understand it is from a writer you recommend a writer to register here, if they do that and you message them in here they are more likely to get the message and know who it is from rather then it having no subject matter that is at least one way I got around the problem of the chyoo messaging.

Also I feel complaining is not any way to get things to work for us, also tons of ads is the last things we want on that site since the site is pretty clean as a whole which is rate for this kind of site. If you really want traffic to pick up I suggest you guys start summit the site to blog writers to check out and explain you understand its an old site and it needs work but you feel it is worth there time to recommend it to more people and so on in there blogs or something. I know there are tons of blogs that cover this kind of site as a whole. I mean if the site got the attention of blog writers then its possible the webmasters at the request of the blog writers who are giving them credit and free coverage might help promote improvement. There are many ways to look or view many problems and it is best to think of all of them. Ads are surely not an answer.
