I have this problem where the Lit Board keeps notifying me by email that there are new posts in a thread even though I have that option turned off. Is there anything I can do besides block the address?

Yes .

I think by clicking on Control panel ( at the top of this page), and looking carefully at all the options on each part, you will find a box checked that causes this nightmare.

It happened to me one time.

Click on "usercp"

Then in the Subscribed Threads section, select show threads from the beginning. This will expand the list of threads you have subscribed to. Now, just select the ones you would like to be unsubscribed to.

Even though you now changed the email notification to no, you still need to unsubscribe to the threads. The email notification option of YES and NO are only to automatically subscribe you when you post a new thread or reply. It doesn't shut off the notifications on the threads already subscribed to nor the threads you will manually subscribe to in the future.

Yeah I just figured it our by myself,
I did the effort of re-editing my post on those threads I didn't like to get e-mail modification. When you edit it, there is an extra checkbox for e-mail notification.
It's quite an effort, but I'm not sure whether it will suffice to edit only the first of your post or all of them. Anyway, it works,
hope it helps,
Snoopy
P.S. As I figured, the e-mail notification in the User's Options section only controls whether that checkbox in you post-edits is normally-on or normally-off
