Electro anyone?

Safe & sane please, everything below the waist is ok.I

I've been playing with TENS units for several years and find it very effective for stimulating submissives. I've found when used on subs with ED it can induce an ejaculation relatively quickly.

Thoughts ?

I've always been a little squeamish about electro play. I'm pretty sensitive to electricity and get shocked really easily, often by static charges simply touching things around the house while wearing sweaters or long underwear, and there have been a couple times where I've literally jumped. It's not as hard a hard limit for me as sounding is but... it's not on my "likes" list either.

I have zero knowledge of this, but perhaps DVS will post or maybe you can find something in his threads. He pops in and out, but he more than anyone is always amped to discuss this topic.

I've loved it when I've tried it in the past, but as DeepGreenEyes said, DVS is the resident expert here, if you can chase one of his threads down.

I read the newbies thread topic as a way to engage with others on the topic rather then asking who’s the resident expert.

Anti-expert populism blitzes politics and then conquers Lit!

You raise a good point: securing the best knowledge is not always the aim.

OP did state safe and sane so input from resident expert is probably welcomed by OP. However, with newcomers it's always great to hear about their experiences and knowledge. What experience do you have with electro play? What advice would you give?

I've had a friend show me a little during a demo. He used a wartenburg wheel connected to a violet wand. Others said the sensation was similar to getting a tattoo. I don't know about that since I've never had a tattoo. I did really like the sensation. The marks left took forever to fade but that's more because my skin heals slowly.

im sort of interested but also intimidated by this. where so males generally place the clamps? is there. beginning spots like nipples vs balls right away

I self-play solo with "stereo stim" fairly regularly. I can orgasm from it when I want to (for the most part), but my goal is usually edging and orgasm denial when my willpower doesn't totally abandon me ;-). The fastest I've cum is about 15 minutes. If I'm lucky and my willpower holds out, I'll turn off after 3 hours really Jonesing to cum.

With respect to safe and sane while applying it to someone else, there are a couple of discussion boards that explore the topic. Based on my solo sessions alone though, there are a number of things that I'd consider. Aside from the safety items (e.g. using some kind of insulating gloves when touching the other person or adjusting the electrodes), the first thing is that even when using the same equipment (e.g. power box, electrodes), the ride can be unpredictable. What feels good or bad one time might be the opposite the next. Usually, when it's going wrong it doesn't feel good no matter how turned on I am. I'm sure other people have altogether different experiences.

If the "rider" is restrained, then good communication is extra important. Even when I'm hard, hot spots can be a problem if the electrodes don't have (or start losing) good contact. Hot spots can lead to electrical burns, so it's important to be able to give and receive feedback and take care of problems immediately.

Since you mention ED, I often don't stay hard through an entire play session (my erection comes and goes). Some of that is most likely age, while some is just nerve endings that get over stimulated. Prostate play impacts that dynamic a lot. In my experience and reading around the discussion boards, inducing ejaculation without orgasm is nigh impossible (if that's what you mean). Just getting to orgasm can be kind of a crap shoot at times. The sensations are much more fun with a full erection than at half mast, which usually leads to adjusting things.

I've learned some general personal preferences, such as that I'm not a fan of low frequency files, but there are people who don't like the higher frequencies that I like. One of the things that I'd imagine would be a challenge when controlling someone else's sessions is not knowing what the other person is feeling. With e-stim, it can be very intense and change quickly. Getting familiar with someone else's preference would seem to take an investment of time.

Fun subject though.

At the risk of oversimplifying, the idea behind e-stim is that you're trying to stimulate nerve endings in a way that feels erotic by running high voltage, very low current electricity across them. Since our muscles also react to electrical signals, they will also respond to the current. The heart is a muscle that runs on electrical signals, so it's extremely important that current does not run through it - which could disrupt it and cause death. For this reason, we talk about "playing only below the waist". There are ways to play above the waist, but in general it's discouraged without the right equipment.

Making muscles react to electricity is interesting and can feel fun. A penis, on the other hand, is not a muscle (for the purposes of this discussion). For that area of the body, we are really trying to stimulate those fun nerves. Knowing that the penis has two major nerve bundles helps. To stimulate them, we need the electricity to "move" or "flow" (in layman's terms) across the skin and nerves. Simply put, you are creating a circuit. The terminology used to describe the point where the electrical gizmo contacts the body at the start or end is "electrode". If electricity is going to move from A to B in a circuit, then you need two electrodes to make the circuit. Sometimes it's fun to have two circuits, each with different "signals" that feel different. You might see 4 wires/electrodes or see someone using one electrode in common between two circuits, in which case you might see 3 wires in a video or picture.

While a clamp could be an electrode, it's not likely to be a very good one and could be painful or dangerous. The reason is that you need the point where the current enters/exits to have some surface area. If all of the electricity is concentrated in a small area at the point of a clamp, it will create heat and burn the skin. This is what we usually mean by a "hot spot". Too much current over too little surface area is painful and damages tissue. We get more surface area by using electrodes that wrap around the penis or use TENS pads.

So, getting back to your question, if you look for e-stim porn videos you'll see guys putting one electrode on the balls or base of the shaft and the other on the head. This makes the penis part of the circuit, and that's where you'll feel it. If, on the other hand, you put one electrode on one "ball" and complete the circuit with one on the other "ball", then the penis isn't in the circuit and you'll feel it all in the balls.

Keep in mind that electricity follows the path of least resistance. Skin that is nicely hydrated is going to offer less resistance than skin that is dry. The tissue inside of the penis/balls is also water-based and will conduct some of that electricity, so the sensation isn't always on the skin/surface. In particular, an electrode inside of the ass on the prostate can cause the muscles to rhythmically contract, creating a sensation people call "ghost fucking".

All of which is in layman's terms. If you're interest in this kind of play, it's important to read up on things and understand more technical detail so that you can play safely and not get burned (literally) or otherwise hurt.
