Anything from "First Knight" . . . ewh!

"Knight's Tale," on the other hand ... mmmm. What a delicious buffet. Give me Watt, Chaucer, and that beautiful dapple grey creature ... ;)

Maybe I misunderstood the poll! Eyecandy wise, I liked the look of Connery and Ormand. Lets see if I can do this and not cause offense. He is an older guy, sort of world weary and careworn. She is a younger lady, and not. So the dichotomy there, the implications of lust are what I was looking at. (and looking, and looking some more..)

That is why I specified it was Spike and Buffy, not Mastairs and Geller on the second choice. SMG does little for me on a lust level. Marstairs does, particularly when his hair is not so blond.

I used to have a thing for him before I discovered the accent was a phony. I felt so mislead.

Mighty Mouse's girlfriend and the giant cat had incredible chemistry. We'll never know what they might have achieved as a couple, because the crotchless singing mouse wouldn't leave them alone.

I think that would be Pearl Pureheart and Oilcan Harry. He wasn't actually all that big though, about twice as big as either mouse. Harry was constantly tying her up in interesting places but that stupid Spandex busybody would always interfere before it got really good.

Mighty Mouse was jealous because he suffered from Ken Doll Syndrome: smooth from waist to ankles.

Was "Oilcan" the cat's given name?

 His given name was "Harry" but that may have been properly spelled "Hairy". I don't remember now because it was a long time ago. The "Oilcan" part came because he slicked down his fur with greasy kid stuff but that was silly because cats have always been famous for cleaning gunk like that from themselves.

I think you'r right about MM being jealous. The stories were always told from his POV so he could slander the other participants. He always claimed that Harry (or Hairy) was evil and that he was taking Pearl prisoner and doing bad things to her but I have to wonder about that. If that was the case, how come she always let herself get into those situations?

If there were any justice in comic books and movies, Oilcan and Pearl could sue MM for harassment, alienation of affection and slander. Probably battery and other things because the poor cat was always getting beaten up.

My nominees, and in all seriousness would be Morticia and Gomez Addams.
They were always the most romantic couple, even in their own twisted way.

They were hot. And since Oilcan was a cat, you had that extreme sex=violence=death thing going on too.

The other thing about Terrytoons was that their orchestra had a really kick-ass saxophone section. Those guys really cooked.

What about Groucho Marx and Margaret DuMont?

"What's wrong with that man?!"

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm definitely leaning towards Amber Benson and Allyson Hannigan on BtVS. They were just an INCREDIBLY cute couple!

I don't think Rupert is gay, folks. Could be wrong though.

Spied Rupert this morning in a cafe in Soho (with his b/f).

I think he had a period where he was playing a gay character or something but insisting he himself was not gay. I always thought he was, because he isn't that good of an actor; I missed him coming out. Yay for Roops.

I think that I would have to agree, even though they were more of a TV couple than movie. They couldn't keep their hands off each other, especially when she would say something in French.

I am not thinking of the actors now, but of the character. Spike and Buffy, and that whole bdsm/masochist undercurrent they had going on really worked for me! I was a bit surprised that they showed those two eppies in prime time.. (The one where the beat on each other - you listening snowy? that is beat ON not off- and end up doing the nasty and the one following where they are all nekkid everywhere.)

Agreed on that one. Did you ever see the bit of film that ended up on the cutting-room floor? There are three versions of that scene - the cut-down one which they showed at 6.00pm in England, the normal one which they showed at 10.00pm in England and then the extended version, which is verging on porn. It's grainy film (cause it was never televised) and anybody wishing to to see SMG or Marsters nekkid will be out of luck, but oh my god, do they go for it. Off to internet search for it again now.

Actually the on-screen couple that got me going the most was Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in Interview With The Vampire. I'm straight as a die normally (sorry Svenska), but that film still gets me a little interested.

Helene - You didn't know from the start? There have been far worse English accents, but Marsters's is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

Juliet Landau (Drusilla) had quite a dodgy accent too, but she gets forgiven cause she was very entertaining and also made a good pair to Spike. Have to agree with the Willow and Tara mentions, although I have to say Willow and Oz were a cuter couple. I am such an Oz in real life :( (although a little bit taller).

I'm pretty sure it was right after that wedding flick with Julia Roberts. Forget the name.

Leonardo de Caprio and Kate Winslett.

The question is: Am I being serious?

I tend to think of you as one of the more serious posters, always a stimulating and thought-provoking read.

Are you being serious? Good question, but they weren't relly bad in that at all, in fact, the story was actually fair leading up to the ship going down. Not to imply that the sinking was poorly done, but when i watched Pearl Harbor, I was bored until the bombing. Titanic actually made me care that he was dieing at the end.

How about... Han and Leia? Is I spelled her name right?
