Equating material wealth to leadership abilities and thus declaring one's worthiness to govern is a non-sequitur fallacy. But you already know that.Whatever lies you want to tell yourself.
Meanwhile; facts matter. Trump is worth, at the very least, millions.
I couldn't find anything about most of the candidates for local offices like state representative. They mostly have facebook pages or something like that, but I avoid facebook and anything with login walls. I will probably skip those in the primary and wait for more information about the nominees. I have one primary candidate on my list.
Some of them on this board seem to think like 4 year olds as well. Or at least, have the cognitive and reasoning capacity of 4 year olds.
Amazing how French voters go to a designated polling location and cast their ballots on a single day.At 28, Bardella could become youngest French prime minister at helm of far-right National Rally

At just 28 years old, Jordan Bardella has helped make the far-right National Rally the strongest political force in France

I’m ok with early voting and absentee vote by mail within reason. Postmarked a week or two max before the election. A month or more of early voting is ridiculous. It’s lunacy to think that making people wait in line for hours on Election Day is in any way preferable to offering early voting and mail-in voting.
So I’m not surprised that’s your position.![]()
So how about a voting holiday.I’m ok with early voting and absentee vote by mail within reason. Postmarked a week or two max before the election. A month or more of early voting is ridiculous.
I would support that.So how about a voting holiday.
France holds their elections on Sunday and the overwhelming vast majority of businesses are required to be closed on Sundays.
That's a vital part of same day voting. Especially with a country as large as the US.
France has about a quarter of the people and about a third of the administrative states. Voting day is also held on a Sunday. When people don't work.
Idiot.
France is obviously it's a lot smaller than the U.S.A, but if it runs its elections anything like the UK model regarding polling stations, there are soooooooooooo many more: when i lived in the UK up till 7 years ago, polling stations were frequently as close as a quarter of a mile apart, easily reached on foot and queues were never a big issue. It’s lunacy to think that making people wait in line for hours on Election Day is in any way preferable to offering early voting and mail-in voting.

That's what it would take to do same day voting nationwide. Unfortunately the politicians you vote for are adamantly opposed to it.I would support that.
The GOP spent too much time resisting early voting and not enough time learning to take advantage of it. They seem to have finally started getting their act together. That's what it would take to do same day voting nationwide. Unfortunately the politicians you vote for are adamantly opposed to it.

Given how easy it is to vote now, nobody has any excuse for not doing so. An Election Day holiday would have been more impactful 5 years ago, before universal vote by mail and super-early voting as much as 46 days in advance in some states.
Abortion-rights ballot measures may not help Democrats as much as they think

Most abortion-rights measures on the ballot this fall are likely to pass, but there's no guarantee that their success will rub off on Democratic candidates.
