EL HELLLP! how the'EL does this new set up work?

My hubby uses this newer version alot, though he's customised it to make it a bit easier to use

Anyhow...shoot and I'll see if I can at least tell you if something can be done or if it's something to PM Manu about

Short story...was playing with the new setting thingie...was dumb enough to delete my AV. Now I don't have any options to change and/or download a new one. Just as if I was a newbie (-100 posts) and couldn't do it.

I saw my husband's page, he does have the option...but I don't. Something I did wrong?

I answered your thread *grins* but I can only imagine it's a glitch and that manu needs to be informed of it...unless you can remember fiddling with anything particular to do with AV's??
Oh and do you have the "show AV" option ticked in the edit options bit?

Yes thanks a thousand time. I just did PM'ed Manu.
Yeah "show AV" is ticked, haven't touched anything but deleted my AV because I wanted to change it....right from the start I didn't have any option but delete...nothing that said, "change or download new one" just delete and I thought that by deleting it then the options would appear...I thought wrong

Where has my buddy list gone?

Go to your user cp and click on the "quick links" link at the top of the page, then right near the bottom is "open buddy list" select this and your buddy list opens in a new window but works as the old one pretty much

How do I subscribe to a thread? If you've got the advanced editor mode on (I think this is the default one,where you can see all the smilies) then just below the reply box you get "additional options" in here is a drop down box of subscribe options. You can come back and edit your post and edit those options

EL can you ask Manu to add a skin option like your site, I cannot read this with browser text size largest, I have tried all skins, I am leaving cause my eyes hurt (maybe head to your site awhile.)

Cant read text? for the time being find the "text size" option on your browser window and bump it up. I think text size is something Manu will have to fiddle with

urrghhhhh! this looks horrid /why've i got a scroll bar for posts?

try changingyour style, scroll tothe bottom of any page and look through the styles. If the screen has ascroll bar on it when you first log in try one of the "fixed" style options.


BUT

when you've picked your style go to "edit options" and near the bottom is "forum skin" chose your new style there too and that style will be your default one every time you return to the site.

I would become a huge EL fan if you managed something... I can't switch to largest for one site, and even at the largest it's still too 'icky' (letters too thin).

Maybe if I change off courier new I can work some magic.

Otherwise... they'll have cured me of my new addiction to this forum.

Might be a good thing, I need to get back to writing anyway.

Funky feature! Download your PMS!

Hey, Lucky noticed it and mentioned on another thread ,you can download all your important PM's. Below your PM inbox is a little "downloadall private messages as" if you click on the "Text" option a download window will pop up and you can download a text file of all your PMs. I just tried it and it works

No more full PM boxes (well if folk remember to download and empty regularly *L*)

Also if you click on the drop down box. just below your PMs you can move your PMs to be deleted or pick out certain pM's to download if you want to keep friends PM's as seperate files

how do i post images now?

Ok...method one. This works when you have a www. Url type thingy to post.

go to post a reply then just above the reply box you'll see a rowof little icons, about middle is a little btton with mountainsand asun on a yellow background. Click this and you'll get a little box to put your image in

OR

have you got and attachment? scroll down to "additional options" below the reply box and lick "manage attachments" choose your file by browsing your computer and then click "upload" wait till it's done then close the window and a note will show that you've added an attachment in that additional options box...

When you are sending a Pm and you click to send it youget a little box "request a read reciept for this message" you don't have to click Ok, you can click cancel and it just won't send a tracking thing with it, you can also deny reciept when you recieve a PM...you'll see the option, just don't click to confirm receipt

If the dancing banana bugs you go to your user CP. Got to edit options and near the bottom you have "message editor interface" chose "basic editor -simple text box" and you won't get the smilies in your reply box -no jumping banana
