EL, do you know if the option to change our title is hidden somewhere now or can we not do that anymore? Are we forever stuck with the title we had before the upgrade?

There should be a button labelled 'Quick Links' on the screen, on Skynet it's at the top. Select 'Edit profile' and change from there.
EDIT: EL - different 'screen formats' seem to have different working functions, Skynet's pretty close to what we had before, except for the appauling colour. I changed something on my profile earlier, it worked fine.

In the PM box interface there is a new function that I haven't seen before. It says "Download your PMs as..." and then there are options like XML and a text file. So now we never have to go though the gruesome task of selecting which PMs to save and whiuch to toss out to make place for more. Just save it all, swiftly and as easy as 1, 2, 3 to your own 'puter.

I think it has to do with the custom user levels that are missing as well. There are no more virgins or Gurus until Manu redefines the custom user levels. That's why there are some newbys with fewer than 100 posts who have avatars -- everyone is simply a "registered user" with the default priveliges of registration.

El, thanks for being here. I rec'd a notice that my subscription to the AH was canceled. I used to just go to my User CP and click on the AH. But I can't figure out how to subscribe to the forum again (vs. subscribing to threads). Can you help?

Ok you need to go to the AH overview page and at the top of the list of threads you'll see the words "forum tools" click on here and then in the drop down menu you can subscribe to the forum

I wouldn't hold my breath for the search function as it will probably be an on and off thing for about three days (mostly OFF for the next two days.)

It seems I was overly pessimistic, or the re-indexing in this new versionis much faster than the old version: Search just came back -- for a while at least -- about thirty seconds ago.
(at least the "Search this forum" link showed up next to the Forum Options link and is functional; pastsearch function outages have let one link work and others still be blocked.)

There's also a "Search This Thread" option next to to the thread tools link in the thread header-bar -- a new feature in this version people were asking for in the old one.
