I told myself at one time that if there was one person from Lit that I would like to photograph me, it would be you. I know you that you would respect my limits (since I'm shy) but can come up with amazing pics, and even I would be astounded. But then, maybe I'm assuming too much, to think that you would want to photograph me since I've seen your website and your models are all gorgeous.

The reason all my models are gorgeous is because they're all models. It certainly doesn't mean I don't want to work with "regular" women. Professional models just happen to be easier to find because they are looking to add to their own portfolio as I add to mine. And in some cases I'm willing to pay for a model if she has a look that I need for a project.

In fact, I've always wanted to start a thread devoted to sharing photos I've taken of Lit members. I'd call it "Ekserb Presents...." or something. This would, of course, be best after I start my road trip and travel all over the country. I could meet with and shoot anyone from Lit who is willing to pose for me as I pass through their part of the country. As much or as little anonymity would be offered to those who want to work with me. Since very few people would be starting a modeling portfolio with these images, I'd ask only for a meal or a movie as payment.

Best Camera has a web site and a book devoted to images taken with the iPhone app and I know it's supposed to be great, but I already have five photo apps on my phone and don't really need another.

The others are CameraBag, Cropulator, SmugShot, ƒ/8, and NightCamera. NightCamera is what I use to actually shoot the photos on the iPhone—it has a lot of improvements on the Apple Camera app.

(insert "I'm going to Miami" by Will Smith, lol) And yeah, I'm not aspiring to be a model - I think I'm too short (and old) for that. But an "Ekserb Presents" sounds good. It would be interesting if you came up with that. I hope it happens - would be great to see Lit women through your lens. I'll watch out for it.

Sadly, that's the case with many of Lit's most beautiful women: They're always in another part of the world. Oh, well. Let me know if you ever vacation in South Florida!

I know! I've seen some iPhone videos from the new 3GS and they're pretty good. What really impressed me was the sound quality (one video I saw was two guys shooting semi-automatic rifles in a combat course and the sound was impressive).

Who knows? Maybe one day my cross country trip will turn into a round-the-world trip! (Wishful thinking perhaps? )

You'd think so, but every time I've ever had a job doing what I thought I loved, I ended up detesting the fact that I had to do it every day. It was no longer a fun hobby, but instead just a job.

Thank you both! I'm thinking about letting it grow out, but this time I'll do a slightly better job of keeping it under control. Last time it was just a messy mop of hair.

Five years of Ekserb's picture thread

Amazingly, this thread is coming up on its fifth anniversary (although the most recent year has been pretty lean as far as contributions from me). I've been trying to think of a new series of pictures to mark the event. Any suggestions?

Also, I have only 23 more days of employment at my current job, then I'm moving out of Miami and beginning the design and construction of my RV, followed by a road trip around the country. Keep watching this space for news of my adventures!

Hi Phil,

How about a series of nudes working on that RV? Sepia tones would be great, and maybe some night shots working under spotlights.

I hope you'll be taking some pics of yourself on your road trip .. I liked the ones you did in the fields awhile back.
