a coffee table book of your pix published! Especially some of these new ones in the
black and white.....amazing! And you know I'd be first in line to order one......

Actually, these are the first images that I feel are really good enough for printing. I've managed to incorporate everything I've learned from the previous pictures and have recently acquired some new equipment to experiment with. Even the full resolution files look pretty good.

Yes, I'm still in Miami. I don't think my home is going to sell. I found out what two other homes sold for within the last few months and those owners really screwed me - they accepted such a low offer that I can't possible meet that price point and still afford to start traveling like I want to.

There is some good news: Some pictures I posted on a gun-enthusiast forum were noticed by a local manufacturer of Glock accessories and he wants to hire me to shoot some new images for his web site and promotional material. He's out of town until next month, but when he gets back to Miami we're going to discuss it. Might be fun to shoot some catalog photos in my new mini-studio on the dining table. The money can't hurt, either.

So that's what's happening!

I posted this on the Pet Thread a few days ago, but I don't know if any of my "fans" visit that thread any more, so I'll repost it here:

The county opened a new dog park near my house. I took the dogs last week and made a little video of their adventures:

Yeah, that Tigger is hilarious. There I was, holding a water hose in one hand and an unwilling, muddy dog in the other, all while trying not to spray the video camera sitting on the ground next to me. Fun!

I just bought two new studio strobes and I'm very excited. They were expensive, but worth it, I hope.

I am, although things never work out quite the way we hope they will.

I've decided to take my home off the market (actually, the most recent listing expired and I'm not going to re-list) until the Miami real estate market picks up a bit. It could be a long wait.

I brought all my goodies in from a PODS container and now the house is half-full of boxes again, but at least I have my "stuff" so I can live like a normal person.

I'm having fun with the photography, and that's all that matters.

Oh, I am. I've met a few models who are impressed with my work to the point that they are helping me get more paid work in the industry. I'm also pursuing some catalog-type photography that could be pretty lucrative. My fingers are crossed.

Well, I don't know about the "as usual" part, but thank you very much!

I like #5, too, but the way my arms hang in #6 swung my vote for that picture. I don't know what it is, but I like the casual attitude of that image.

(Is it wrong for me to critique my own work — indeed, my own self portraits — in such a manner?)

Black and white versions coming right up....

These are just black and white versions of the most recent set. I still love B&W, and prefer it for most portrait work, but I'm finding that many models want color for their portfolio as agencies and casting directors want to see skin tone and eye color, so I've been experimenting lately.

(This is exactly why I don't want to be a fashion photographer. The clients so rarely know what art is; they only know what looks pretty. Idiots.)

Yes, that seems to be the most common manner of finding my thread, since I'm not whoring myself around Lit just to get women to look at me naked.

Actually, I do like that head shot. It was one of the first photos I took with the new lights and I was so happy when I saw it. I don't need to flaunt my junk all the time, you know. Hehee.

And that's not the first time I've been told I look like the aging rocker. It's not even the second time. It's not something I'm proud of, but I'll live with it.
