Ekserb's picture thread

One of the things I'm hoping to do when I start traveling is take some new nudes in and around the wild places of this country. Waterfalls, deserts, swimming holes, etc. I think those locations will work wonderfully to make some great images. Plus, I'll be getting a new camera in a few weeks and that should allow me to make photos with enough resolution for excellent calendar-type prints.

Considering my house has been on the real estate market for over eighteen months, I'm going to caution you against being too impatient. :)

On a totally unrelated note:

I bought a new camera on eBay last week. My old film Maxxum 9000 had a malfunction and the repair shop estimated the cost of repair at about $250. I declined the repair, but lamented the loss of what was my first real camera. The 9000 was one of the first true autofocus systems in an SLR and even after twenty years the old cameras are still valued by film photographers for their rugged chassis and plethora of controls.

A new camera might be a lot spiffier and digital really is the way of the future, but I miss having the availability of a regular 35mm film camera. So I bought another 9000 on the internet.

Now I have three camera bodies (two 9000s and the KM 7D) and six lenses. I also have a motor drive for the film cameras and when that thing is firing at five frames per second, it's impressive. The old cameras were not known for their quiet operation, and this thing sounds like a machine gun as it drives through a 36-exposure roll in about seven seconds. Will I ever use that feature? Probably not, but it's nice to know it's there. LOL

At moment I just use a 3.2 one on my phone. Hope to invest in a semi decent one soon but after investing in a new work venture money doesn't stretch that far just now

Ugh. You're killing me. Camera phones are the greatest evil since ... well, since photography was invented.

I've seen some good shots taken with a camera phone, but the VAST majority are so bad that it pains me to look upon them. A plastic lens the size of a pinhead just can't resolve details like a good piece of optical glass. And German glass even better. (Whoops! Was that my lens snob showing his ass?)

Camera fairy?!? What the fuck? I've been paying for gear and there is a magical pixie that goes around handing out cameras and lenses? God-fucking-dammit!!!!!

Oops. I suppose I have to be on good behavior to get this little sprite to put something under my pillow. Shit. I'm fucked.

I'd be happy that you found me, but I'm pretty upset about this camera fairy thing and it's going to take me a while to get over it.

Please enjoy my thread while I sulk.

Think she'd pose for me? What a coup that would be: "I have the camera fairy on film! And she's hot!"

(I guess the Lit reminder service is on holiday, too, because I totally didn't get a message telling me that I had another reply on this thread.)

Thanks, Blueprints! That's always nice to hear.

(I guess it's working again.)

Sunny and shiny, Jen! Sunny and shiny.

Well, not this minute. It's dark outside. But it was sunny until a few hours ago, I swear.
