EBW's rant no. 123 (not to be read by folks who were touchy about Memorial Day)

So Sunday was another day where I was again reminded of how much of a weirdo I am, well not Sunday itself because on Sunday I just slept in until 2, hungover and ate corn pops. But the whole week leading up to one of the holidays I don't like. I used to vent on about things like this on the board but, well, I haven't been recently and as such my one forum for bitching about these things was absent from my life so I had to internalize, which sucks.

Firstly, there was the fact that my co-workers are new to the whole "weevil way of thinking" and were pestering me about my lack of a poppy. Not wanting to take the time to individually explain my long(and potentially offensive) position to them I'd make up an excuse like "Didn't match my tie" or "Fell off" or, well you the idea.

But that was just me trying to not get into any long and shouty debates about my anti-, well the things I'm against that are tied into the holiday.

So how to spend my day off? How could I at once be true to my ideals and yet observe the holiday by not going into work. I decided to simply work all day from home, which quickly degenerated into a day of working for an hour and then hooking up my brand new PS2.

So did I sell out my feelings on the day? Should I have, as one of my earlier ideas entailed, sat outside my office all day? Who knows.

Ok, just one thing....

Veterans Day, not Memorial day. You were off on that by roughly 6 months.

OK, just two things. First of all, I meant Memorial day and even if I did fuck up it would have been remembrance day.

Jeez.

EBW gets Veterans Day off and I have to work. The irony of that just kills me.

Hey fucktard, I told you not to read it.

Remembrance day, not Veterans Day. The distinction is actually important because so much of the Canadian version is wrapped up in WW1 which, despite the fact that people here brought up 'Nam more, is the war I have the biggest problem with.
