AND

Lets plan ahead then and meet in the middle... :D
I'll be in Atlanta the weekend of January 6th. janey, danielle and I will be going to 1763 on the 6th. It's a great facility, and although it is a private club, if you are not already a member you can, as an out-of-state visitor, purchase a one-time membership for $5.00. :D

For more info: http://www.1763.net

*sighs and day dreams*

I hope I haven't mislead you, because as much as my soul wants/needs such a thing, at this point and time I can't make myself venture out of my marriage in RL.

I do plan to rent the dungeon there with my husband sometime.

*smiles softly* Who said anything about venturing outside your marriage? Bring hubby along too! I don't play with anyone in a relationship without the knowledge and consent of _all_ parties involved. *eyes dance impishly* And I very, VERY rarely play on a first meet with someone anyway.

My repetoire is extensive, I _do_ educational presentations and demos. Maybe there is something he would be interested in learning and we could all have a fantabulous excursion.

As much as I am a sadistic play slut, first and foremost I am a friend. Play doesn't have to enter into the equation at all. We could just meet, talk, share a cuppa joe, y'all could watch me play with mine, maybe y'all could enjoy one of the more private rooms... Ms Whip does rent rooms for 12 and 24 hour periods as well.

Have to ask--

What type of problems? I used to be ovo lacto, then had to stop the lacto, because of mik allergy. So I started first fish, then meat-- I'm sooo much more healthy-- veryvery healthy. But I still have weird cycle problems-- I eat huge amounts of tofu-- are your sure that your thyroid problem was from the tofu and not from seaweed?

Bredon
I had ongoing problems with ovarian cysts that they tried to control with bc pills and couldn't - after an operation began developing a fibroid that grew to be bigger than my uterus (thankfully outside my womb so doesn't cause a lot of pain or interfer much with sex). It's stopped growing since I changed my diet.

Re: thyroid function and soy. There was a major Japanese study that was widely published in peer-reviewed journals in every industrialized country except the U.S. (where agribusiness funds the nutrition publications). It found that eating 30 grams (1 ounce) of soy protein per day for 3 months (the amount recommended by some doctors for heart and reproductive health) was enough to have some impact on thyroid function of all participants (don't remember the # but in the 100's). Some needed temporary hormone supplementation to recover full functionality. It does seem that adequate iodine can mediate the response. (Thyroid function has a huge impact on the whole hormonal system since this is where everything starts.)

There is contradictory research but I would prefer to trust my own body. Links:

http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1241182
http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/soydoerge.htm

Tofu is one of the healthier forms of soy food (there are also a lot of toxins in soybeans, which can only be destroyed through fermentation). Eating small amounts of soy, tempe, and miso can be healthy. But one can get too much of a good thing. (I love tofu, also, BTW. It was hard to give up!)

One other thought concerning your difficulties: Have you started hormones or thought about doing so? I know that can sometimes have odd effects.

Sorry if this was long-winded.
Again, the health educator in me "will out."

That's much more do-able. I'd love to met you and Janie and see the place!

We do have tentative plans for a trip in January, just not to ATL.

I run it past him though, provided he ever lets me talk with him about trip planning at all.

I'm writing this down in my non-existent datebook. I'm less than two hours from Atlanta, anyway. ;)

Less than two hours from Hotlanta??? *GRINS* I got two words for you...

DAY TRIP!

If you don't want to go to the expense of a motel room afterward. I'd offer to share but I don't think we are anywhere near ready for that. *smiles and waggles his eyebrows* Yet. At the welcome centers they have these great little coupon books for mega cheap motel rooms... I-285 around Exit 27 I believe...

I am not that strict about meat. I mean if it is cooked with chicken broth or something I'm not gonna freak. Sometimes I will order something I want and know has meat in it but pick around the meat, because of that I have found I really don't like the texture of meat in my mouth at all.

Recently my daughter said she was thinking of going veggie. The biggest hitch is her father's cooking! LMAO! He is a very big meat eater and a great cook. Anyway I was tickled at the thought. You know sometimes it seems like al they want to do is oppose you and then something like this pops up.

*chuckles*

I guess she is my kid after all! Who knew?

When I was veggie and then vegan, never talked about it either, unless someone asked - they usually do in San Francisco, though. Elsewhere, except when with my family, would eat whatever I was served (Buddhist sort of thing). Every post where you mention her, your daughter sounds great. :) ~ Neon

Secret about the tofu - was vegan for many years with soy serving as my primary source of protein and calcium - it gave me a thyroid condition that caused weight gain and that I've only recently gotten diagnosed and am recovering from... Feel free to PM me if you want more info. :rose: Neon

I've been studying up on self induced hypothyroidism and found some information on how to reverse it's effects and get the thyroid to function normally again.

Let me know if you are interested.

Tuna and salmon are on the edible list - endoskeleton? Check. Spinal column? Check. They're on the list. It's the specific seafoods I mentioned that I have issues with.

And I have issues, in part, because all of them were big parts of many meals growing up. Sicilian ancestry = lots of seafood.

Ahhh I remember now I think you mentioned this reason before about your Ancestors.

Takes the Polpi All' Arrabbiata and the Vongole off the list ............smiles

Neon-- maybe that's why the japanese combine tofu with seaweed (jodiet) ?

Betticus-- I'd be interested in that info too--

No hormones yet--

Definitely interested. :)

Bredon, re: tofu and seaweed, could be. They also don't really eat as much soy as people assume...
