A Desolate Angels Blues - Justin Townes Earle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXtdXnQHSKw

So gather round boys
This here's the last time
You're gonna see me in one piece
So put a kiss
Upon my lips oh boys
And then send me off to sleep
Oh well tonight when
I lay me down
Oh well lord I'm going home
Back to that river
Back to my brother oh lord
I may no longer be alone

Walkin With Jesus - Spaceman 3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRuoXqpL6ZM

I walked with Jesus and he would say
"Oh you poor child, you ain't comin' to me no way
You've found Heaven on Earth, gonna burn for your sin"
But I think I'll be in good company down there with all my friends
Well I got around to thinking 'bout what Jesus said to me
Cos if Heaven's like this, then that's the place for me
Long, long time between now and my death
And I gotta have my fun so I've chosen what's best

I can say without any doubt that this is the most disturbing and painful video I’ve ever forced myself to see and hear, but around 2:25, the female lead sings “Sing it again, my Jesus” like she wants her lord and savior to talk more churchy dirty talk to her. Almost made it worth it, but not really. Jesus is just all right with me . . .

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds to have a song called Jesus Alone, although I'm not sure how much it is really about Jesus. (Amazing song though, if you like that sort of thing. I think it's actually about his son dying, in a tangential way.)

Now I want to know which quip you're talking about.

Oh, just the Kim Gordon one you must have heard a million times before. I was thinking that if I didn’t mention it specifically it would lead to curiosity that might lead to an educational experience.
