I know it is a nasty and dirty subject.............but do you ever get a HUGE build up of wax in your ears and it stiffles your hearing ability?

What do you do about it? I am curious if anyone else has this particularly strange thing happen to them.........

(This is a bit out there for me to post, but WTF? )

And you wanted to make fun of my passing gas...

I know, but this is a serious question. I am curious what others might do to alleviate the issue?

(btw, Hope your better today LTR........I sent some Positive thoughts your way........:) )

Put a few drops of baby oil in there.

I've also heard that q-tips are actually counter-productive. They push the wax back into your ear further, as you're getting some out.

But, I'm sticking with the q-tips thank you.

Here's a link that says white vinegar and rubbing alcohol mixed half and half does the trick.

I'd go with this one, since I can't remember where I heard the baby oil remedy at.

About your question, there are some over the counter remedies at the drugstore you can use,or you can go to the docter and have them remove it.

I am better today,thanks. ;)

Thanks Wiggles, I am curious if any others have any other tips or tricks they have used.

I know how the doctor cleans them out, but I don't have a Needle Plunger that can hold 5,000,000 cc of water and peroxide in it.

Glad to hear it and I will keep on sending you some good thoughts and vibes...........k? ;)

I'm here to save your hearing :D

I'm a trained professional of ear wax removal. (ok, i'm a care giver for my mother, who has fought this problem for years)

Baush & Lomb makes an EarWax Removal System (it's in a yellow box with green lettering).

You put in a few drops of that, wait a little while (read and follow directions) then there is a cute little bulb thingy (remember the snot sucker thingies you got when the babies came home from the hospital?) and you flush out your ear with luke warm water.

It may need to be done several times to completly remove all the wax. But it does work.

:)

What is your address? I'll send you a few.

How about a cath bag? I have a storage unit full of those (don't ask)

:D

Coolies, I will give it a whirl next time..........that sounds muchio easier than what I have been doing.

(H2O and Peroxide mix............flushed with a bulb)

Every now and then, I get a HUGE wad of it and it stiffles my hearing (which is somewhat diminished already from abuse as a teenager) and it sucks.

Sounds like a winner. Everyone has given valuable advice. It is much appreciated.

If anyone else has any tips or tricks, please indulge em here.

(and Wiggles, I do NOT endorse using Q-Tips in the ear for the reason as stated in the article in the post above, my doctor told me a similar reason not to use them...........)

It's funny you posted this today. I've been flushing moms ears all damn day (i'm thinking of a way to do it with the toilet, but we have one of those energy saver.. little water used kinda of toilets, and I don't think it will work):D

the stuff we use *Bausch and Lomb* has Carbamide Peroxide and glycerine in it. So it bubbles up.. and makes cool popping sounds in your ear. (if both ears are plugged, only do one at a time, doing both at the same time can cause you to go crazy;) )

I am going to try the Bausch and Lomb stuff tomorrow night, maybe I will dig this thread back up and let all of y'all know the results? Or is that too dimented and disgusting?

I use B & L for my contacts and it works good, sooooooooo there stuff for ears must be good also? If nothing else it builds up the possibility of it working well anyways...........
