E-Stim -- Has anyone tried this??

I have enjoyed mine but it works best if you don’t have to adjust the controls yourself. Controls run be another or by a program would be preferred.

I’m not sure if this is what I tried or not. I did try something with a Lit guy. His request. I had to download an app. I controlled the device with my phone. Although he said he liked it, I had issues on my end.

The issues? We were in different parts of the world. I couldn’t see him or his reactions. I’d never used the device before. My phone showed me a variety of patterns from which to choose. I had no idea what these options were doing to him.

I felt like a deaf person seated at a piano that had been tinkered with to the
point where no key actually played the note it was supposed to.

I think if you were to use this with a partner, the partner should be physically with you and should also be familiar with your body and how it reacts.

Thank you for responding. So you controlled the controls remotely to which he was hooked up to?? And you weren't video calling or anything??

Thank you so much for responding!

Could you give me a little more? Either here or in the DMs please? I would want to try it solo first I think.

I bought a cheap TENS unit from Amazon. It will come with some basic pad type electrodes. If you want an electrode to insert inside your body you will need to buy that. Amazon will have some and there are online e-stim stores that have large electrode selections. These stores also have elastic cord that you can wrap around body parts too.

They warn against putting electrodes such that the current runs thru your heart such as one on each nipple. It sure how big the risk is. Might depend on heart health.

Start with a low setting and increase as time goes on. Your body gets accustomed to the settings quickly and you’ll need more juice to get the same tingle.

Turn the settings down before you remove an electrode. Make sure you have good contact with the electrodes. Fail on these and you get shocked.

I used a TENS unit as part of physical therapy after an injury. I don’t think it helped much and I have a very weird association with that sensation now, too. I don’t think I would want to play with one sexually, but for those who do - stay safe ❤️

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

You really have to experiment - individuals respond very differently to e-stim, both placement and power level.

My first suggestion is, don't try a medical TENS unit, get a kink specific control box and electrodes.

My second is, if the subject is male, try lots of different types of electrodes, and placements thereof as well, and see what works.

I am a Dom, but always try new things on myself before using them on my amazing slave or a play partner. So I experimented quite a bit on myself with my new e-stim box.

The loop electrodes, as shown in that image, only work so so for me. I found it hard to get good contact with them, plan on plenty of gel. Location was also super important, as shown in that image right up against the glans seemed best.

I had better luck with pad electrodes, placed either at the glans, at the base of the penis, or on the perineum behind the scrotum.

Remember that you need two electrodes...

I did not experiment with sound electrodes, which seems like they might work very well, neither with anal electrodes, ditto. You just have to play around and see what works for you.

In the end, I concluded that e-stim is great for pain delivery, great for clitoral stimulation, but not great (for me at least) for either keeping me hard or making me cum.

Your mileage may vary.

I tried an off the shelf TENS unit on my penis but could not feel a thing from it. It did not have an insertion attachment.

Very good advice. Thank you.

Hey, as a Dom have you ever experimented with the electrified spanking paddle? I've heard of that but never used one. Kind of like a bug zapper???

Yeah I've used a TENS machine, it was similar to the one shown in the video, a basic medical type unit we initially bought for a muscle injury.
I'd seen them used in porn videos but it was a wand and special electrodes for erotic use.
In the medical TENS machines you just get those sticky pads.
I found you have to experiment with levels of stim, the intensity and variations in pattern to find a setting that suits you, start low and build up.

I placed a pad between my balls and ass, on my perineum and one on my cocklette near the tip, OMG I was dripping in seconds, I did achieve hands free orgasm but it's a bit of faff.
I like the look of the sounding probe and anus electrode, that would be very intense I should imagine and give those delicious hands free climaxes shown in the video.

So there are basically two ways to use electricity during play. One is the TENS style e-stim that we have been discussing. The other is what they call a violet wand - basically a plasma device where the device generates a voltage (but very very low current) and if the subject is grounded (which they basically always are) then an arc will jump from the tip of the wand to the skin of the subject and "zap" them.

If you use a violet wand, you can put traditional glass inserts directly into/onto the end of the wand (these are used by aestheticians for skin care as well as for sexual purposes), and then the arc jumps from the glass to the skin. This is a very interesting sensation, and it can be made more intense by turning up the power on the wand. When applied to sensitive areas of the body, it is very effective - great fun.

You can also add a cable and electrode to the end of the wand, basically turning it in to just a voltage generator. Then you can either attach something like a paddle to the end of that cable, or you can have your subject hold the end of the cable (or tape it to their skin, etc) and then if they touch something grounded, they get the "shock". This is what is going on when you see e.g. copper foot pads or a copper covered horse in a predicament type situation.

All of this to say that using a paddle as the electrode doesn't make much sense to me. I think the impact of the paddle would overwhelm the feeling of the shock/zap, making the whole thing just not very interesting.

BUT, if you were playing with a male sub, and e.g. taped the cable electrode to his back somewhere, then you could use e.g. a crop as your grounding electrode and I could see how that might be fun around the cock and balls.

Make sense?

Wow! Do you give seminars? This isn't E-Stim 101. This is graduate seminar level content. Lol.

Seriously, everything makes sense after I read it a few times. Thanks so much. Anything else to share??

Oh. One more thing. How and where do you recommend I start with a female sub??
The answer to that really depends on what you are trying to accomplish, and how well you know your play partner.

If you are both completely new to this, and the goal is learning before anything else, I would start with two pad electrodes on an ass cheek. That is what I did, and I think it was a good call. She will then be able to give feedback on how it feels, you can explore different locations for the two pads (closer together, further apart, higher or lower on the cheek, etc.) and different power levels. If your control box has settings for ramps, pulses and such, then explore those too.

If you are trying to deliver stimulation, then the place to start is the clit. Breasts/nipples are tempting, but proximity to the heart requires at least some level of care (and that location is not recommended by most vendors for that reason). Insertable electrodes can be lots of fun, but in my experience require more experimentation (single or double pole, pussy or ass, if single pole where does the other one go, etc.).

Two small pad electrodes on either side of the clit, as close as you can easily get them, are incredibly effective, easy, and safe. A light setting will generate stimulation. A higher setting will generate pain. In the middle is forced orgasms. For me, it is hard to find something that is more fun - tie her down and play to your heart's content :devilish:
