why do i want to watch a movie and half way through have to get up walk across the room and change the damn dvd when i can put a vhs or betamax in and sit through the whole thing comfortable

The only DVD that I have like that is the Patriot.
Usually the second cd is just for the extras.

i can get all the extras on vhs and betamax without having to move my butt after i sit down

Todd,

What kind of fool are you and what are you talking about. I see that some one mentioned The Patriot, and the only other one I have seen on two disks was Pearl Harbor. I cant think of the number of movies on VHS that have two tapes. The Green Mile, Pearl Harbor, Braveheart, and several others. Not to mention the increase in picture quality that you get on DVD, does not even compare to VHS. Don't even get me started on this subject. I could rant on for hours on end. So if you want a fight post again and I'll accept your challenge.

PS---The extras are just crap they throw together to promote the DVD's.

Plus, it's a little excercise. And I know everybody needs a little excercise after Christmas!!

What extras on VHS and BETA. The only ones I have seen SUCK. and you are stuck watching them in order or else FF and REW.

PS Betamax....do they still make those?

JUST CRAP? That crap as you put it is very interesting at times. The out-takes on some DVD's alone are well worth it. Not to mention the filmographys of the actors. It's cool to see how far back some of todays actors have been doing movies. Sometimes the extras are even better than the movie you just watched.

I love em, and have only had one where we need to flip it halfway through. Countless vhs have to be changed halfway through. Titanic, Gone with the Wind, Braveheart, Green Mile, The Stand is more then 2 video's, and who knows what other ones. Most don't have the same features on them as DVD's. And hell, you can sit on the toilet without having to get up again to do number two, but does that make it any better then shitting your pants?

GILLY!!!!!!!!!!! Hey you....drop that load yet?????

*yes todd, Im stealing your thread*

at least you don't have to rewind them.

You missed the good old days when you had to get up just to change the channel to one of the other 2 that would come in.

You call it interesting, I call it boring crap.
I agree to disagree.

Out of nearly 400 DVDs in my collection I have only one that I need to change... The Rock. It is a zone 2 DVD and apparently this is commonplace with many zone 2 discs. The bulk of my collection is zone one (USA, Canada).

Picture quality and sound quality are the big drawcards for me when it comes to the arguement of DVD vs VHS. VHS isn't even in the same ball park.
