Erh, his and Burton's "interpretation" of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a blemish on an otherwise good record.

disagree...I loved it...but: I can easily see how it is a movie very open to differing impressions based on personal taste.

McK's comment about westerns on TIB reminded me that Silverado is on DVD now and I watched it recently...

I was a little bit in love with a young Kevin Costner after that film.

Sam Elliot and Tom Selleck, also good Western actors. I'm half their age but damn if they don't get my blood boiling. Hummina hummina...

"All I did was kiss the girl..."

seems to me the situation I've been in when I said that was similar, if not as dire, as his was...

Not technically a "Western" ... but I enjoyed Quigley Down Under. I'm rather fond of Laura SG, though. She's an activist comrade.

That is a good one. He's done several TV Westerns that I thought were good: Monte Walsh, Crossfire Trail, Last Stand at Saber River, and The Shadow Riders (also starring Sam Elliot.)

I couldn't agree with you less, in this case- I think it's far closer to Dahl's spirit than the first movie. So much better!

She's confused it with charcoal...note to self, don't do BBQs at SSS's crib.

Our grill doesn't use charcoal. Propane.

So during the next nuclear winter we can still have steaks and weenies.

I'll keep that in mind while I slowly die from radiation poisoning.

I've got Tuck Everlasting in the queue. If anyone has a review of that, I'd like to be forewarned. Not sure I can take another "The Notebook".
Horrid flick.
boring
seemingly little plot
i felt like it was very forced and not what i had thought from its adverts...at all.

Um - End Thread Hijack!
Memento Mori is a nice little asian film...as is So Close I still have yet to watch the Snake of June.

The exorcism of Emily Rose was interesting as well.

I thought I killed you in the sequel???

I am like Michael Myers ( would prefer to say Woody Allen, but few would get it) - I never die! :D

Great movies seen in the last month or so...or re-seen.

Chasing Amy: gay chick, straight guy meet at a comic convention. (chick= Joey Lauren Adams, guy= Ben Affleck) they fall for one another and give the relationship the old college try. wont spoil ending for you. well done if a bit of a glossy look at lesbianism.

Kissing Jessica Stein: straight chick decides to give lesbianism a shot. i was disappointed with the ending though i know its something not all that uncommon...i wanted the fairy tale.

Bewitched: zzzzzzzzzz. some funny parts. good take off but nicole kidman? hrm. yeah ok, she was fine but i think finding someone else a little less known might have been fun.

Dogma: !!!!! classic. i love this movie. who wouldnt love allen rickman...alanis morriset...ben and matt? very fun...and honestly a movie that makes ya think.
personal fave.

gosh, i could go on for pages as we are huge dvd enthusiasts.

Yay for all three but Bewitched, didn't see that one.

Lost and Delirious is another good one.
