Ugh! This sorta thing absolutely sickens me. Now I'll freely admit I'm got some fairly unusual kinks compared to most people I know, but I draw the line at child pornography and sexual abuse. And while I advocate free speech and the democratic right to form a political group based on a social agenda, I think this is going too far. I can't imagine anyone in their right minds supporting a lowering of the age of consent to 12 or legalising child pornography. This whole issue is utter madness.

"A ban just makes children curious," Ad van den Berg, one of the party's founders, told the Algemeen Dagblad (AD) newspaper.

Yeah right. van den Berg just wants to poke some kid up the ass.

Who would have thought that the rot of western society would have been most advanced amongst the northern tribes?

Have to think this might be one of these proposed parties which come from a perspective of creating a stir, getting some attention, more so than expecting to be taken seriously. That being said, from my limited kknowledge the 12yo age of consent issue is already law in part if they have sex with someone within their own age group (which I think allows for a partner 2 years older).

I can't see the a Coalition Government supporting members such as this abhorent group, then again History has a way of supporting the fact that such horrors are often endorsed . Only good thing about this article is it makes others aware who is out there and what nefarious goals they have for children.

I know very little about political parties in the Netherlands. One thing I do know is that 'The Charity, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) party said on its Web site it would be officially registered Wednesday, proclaiming: "We are going to shake
The Hague awake!"
' in the news article implies NVD etc is the site representing this pedophile 'advocacy' group is incorrect/misleading.

More accurate would have been they supplied Cerius Organisation instead.

I believe "age of consent" in Japan...Is 13... Though I understand the individual prefectures have the ability to legislate such under "local" ordinance...

I also understand that "age of consent" is a fairly recent (in historical terms) concept in Japanese law..

With that said..I will withold further comment on this subject...Since my response would closely paralell and old Texas murder defense argument..
"He just needed killin' "

"Free train travel for all" LoL

Hey, don't laugh, they charge like wounded bulls for train travel here and then say they are trying to encourage people to use public transport...so that would likely be something to get people's attention, especially if combined with a more reliable service.

Last I checked, a train from Amsterdam to Moscow costs 200 Euros for 2 100 km as compared Edmonton to Calgary costing 220 Euros ($300 CAN) for a 300 km trip. Rail is not very popular in Canada.

However, the public LRT systems only cost $2 a ride.

Unfortunately, we do not go to Moscow :) ....last time I went to Amsterdam by train (which is about 17kms from here and takes but a few minutes), it cost around 15 Euro...definately not a cheap option, but then if you compare it to a car park fee in 'Dam even without running costs, it becomes more attractive to train it or car pool and share costs, but that is not always possible or convenient.

17 km? That sounds like a trip to Leduc from here. Again, if using VIA Rail, it might be 20 some dollars but thankfully VIA Rail doesn't have any trains that stop so shortly. We may have the LRT extend to as far as Leduc to allow rail access to Edmonton International Airport but that is another 20 to 40 years from now if it ever comes to fruition.
