Dumbest mistake you've made in your stories?

Another one:

My first ever erotic story (started with a computer running CP/M and a weird WP). It was 50,000+ words long when I decided on a major edit that was a disaster. I had filed the original draft on a 360K 5.25 floppy that became corrupt and I had lost the original version when I decided after three months of struggling with the edited version that I needed to go back to the original.

But I couldn't. I had lost it.

It could never have been a Literotica story because the hero suffered sexual abuse as a child and young teenager and the whole story was based on him regaining his self-respect and the admiration of those who had abused him.

But I still regret losing it, 25 years later. I can't rewrite it now. I'm not the same person and the story could never be posted here.

Names get me

Names can catch me. I have character notes but sometimes I look at the wrong notes.

I write out stories on paper, longhand, before I transcribe them. But I'll make subtle changes as I type and that leads to an error once or twice.

I have a story where a number of comments were simply:

"Who the hell is Bob and where'd he come from?"

Oops.

Ultimately? Hitting ‘Submit’ on something which it my best work.

It would take me an hour to list them.
