ear-splitting volume repeatedly when I was in Jamaica a long while back. Reminds me of almost getting stabbed. Still like the tune though.

Max Romeo is great. From what I've read, he was popular in Jamaica and the UK, but not in America for whatever reason. Here are two more from him:

The Althea & Donna is a fav of mine. And they are sooooooooo cute!
It'll take me another couple listens to really appreciate that Bounty Killer version, but I can tell why you like it. You should post more (in general).

Excellent read: This is Reggae Music by Lloyd Bradley. Full of juicy stories about Blackwell et al., original musicians and the vibe in Jamaica and England as things developed.
