Cutting USAID is one thing. Cutting domestic spending programs that obviously benefit working class and middle class Americans, like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security if very difficult. It can only be done with blue smoke and mirrors.
Don’t expect any noticeable changes to SS & Medicare until we get closer to insolvency in about 8 years but we might see some small reductions in Medicaid this term by tightening work requirements and other eligibility criteria.
