Drinking Eggnog

We just cut down our Christmas tree and are drinking eggnog. This is the first I've felt in the Christmas spirit.

Oh, did I mention that I beat PC at target practice? heh

I love this time of year (at least after finals). Not a fan of eggnog, though. Too dense. Mr. Mischka and I are making a batch of glogg this week: red wine, port and aquavit, spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, orange zest, and ginger. Served warm in a mug, with raisins and almonds. Warm bellies are wonderful on a cold day.

Nope, glogg is a Swedish drink. There's supposed to be an umlaut over the o, but I don't know how to add that. I love the stuff. It was too warm last winter to bother making any, but this year it's approached cooler temps.

I think grog is German?

Your house must smell heavenly with that fresh cut pine. Are you guys about to decorate?

Drinking it with spiced rum right now but I did buy some whiskey to try in it too.

We went up to my family's cabin to cut the tree down and my father had to hike us all the way from hell to high water. We're both too pooped to decorate right now, maybe after a nap... *grin* I'm ready to put on some Christmas music, string some popcorn & dress the tree.

Now, if I would start on my shopping, I'd be halfway there!

You people promote eggnog, that crap should have the official title of "the drink that gags", but not fruitcake.

All I can think is..."Whatever".


Oh, and yeah, it snowed and shit, and the tree is up and the spirit is in, but you know what, fruitcake is still the least popular holiday treat so my scrooging is going to be hardcore this year.


I am pretty crushed.
