To do it properly, you should have been drunk before you started! 
I was putting the lights on my tree yesterday (frosted blue and white lights), and after I got them all on, situated and looking perfect, I sat on the couch to finish my eggnog and admire my handiwork. As I was sitting there, one by one, the white light bulbs burnt out. Every single fucking white bulb went *POP* and was dark.
So I spent today unstringing the lights, digging the others out of the attic, and starting over. At the end of the day, I have my tree decorated, and managed to do it without a migraine!
Of course, Wild and Unruly will have it undecorated by noon tomorrow, but that's the point, isn't it?
