I have been thinking with tax return time right around the corner ( I usually get my return in Feb.), that I would like to take a cruise.
Maybe an Alaskan Cruise?

I like to cruise where it is warm, perhaps the south Pacific?

New Caledonia, they are French Tahiti? Warm people, hot weather, hot nights and very warm people as well as superb glacier. Better than Alaska, surely all icebergs look the same?

You have made a very good point! Tahiti....now that sounds nice!

So many places I'd like to visit ! I just don't think that one week....

would be enough time. So let's see. I'd probably have to go to see England. Drop in on Outsider and explore London. Have my strawberries and tea you know. Take a ride on the double decker bus and head on down to see Big Ben. I'd have to see the Changing of the guard at least once. Then to see the The Royalty areas. Outtie can show me the real places to go at night. lol

However, after having my fill of England. I'd have to go to Paris. I just love the french language. I'd love to explore the countryside as well as the museums. Just to see as much of France as possible. Eat cheese and sample wine. Then enjoy the fine French cuisine. Yes. Take me to France, and you could just leave me there. Although I wouldn't want to go alone. I'd need some company.

I'd need more than a week...

I would visit every place that I have ever lived. I am a military brat.

I really do want to return to each place that I spent part of my life at. Just to see them again.

I would also want to re-visit all the places in Europe that my parents drug me to as a child or teen, and see them again as an adult.

An Alaskan cruise is my dream vacation. Next on the list would be Scotland,I really would love to go there.

If I had just a week,

I would probably like to go to some secluded island. Sand, ocean, sun. Just to lay out in the sun and feel it on my face and body. The rays are sooooo relaxing.

Of course, someone would have to come with me. Need someone to share all the relaxing with

Hmmmmmm just a week...I loved Grand Bahama Island. It was a great time the last time we went there. I would have to choose It.

Only a week?

I'd have to say San Francisco. I've never been there although I've been to San Jose and Sacramento. I'd enjoyed meeting some friends there and exploring the city (no, not that side of the city).

I always thought a good holiday was visiting other cultures quite different from my own eg, Tibet etc.

But now a good holiday would be somewhere I only have to unpack the suitcase once, warm, relaxing, sand, deep sea fishing/diving, relaxing on the water and a #*%@ great lover to share it all with.... damn I could do with a week of all that !

Anybody want to sweep me off my feet and take me where the water is clear and life don't include nothing but us!

i have been to the Carribean twice and loved the cruises and the culture.
i would love to go back to Aruba again, but it has probably had a building boom since then. it has been 6 years since i was there.

i would like to try going to California when they dont have earthquake season or rainy season.

A week isn't long enough to visit Ireland, Wales, and Scotland, so I'd love to spend it at a B&B in Door County, Wisconsin.

There's a place there that has a little cottage you can rent that seems like the perfect escape. Me, a suitcase of books, tons of firewood, and one special person...

It depends. But, if you want to take one soon after receiving the money, and would like to go someplace warm, I think the Caribbean is generally preferable to Hawaii - haven't been to Tahiti, etc. - but the Atlantic is warmer, clearer, beautiful color, and the beaches are more prevalent and nicer than Hawaiian, at least. Also, there is a cultural aspect to consider. How about the British or US Virgin Islands? Probably more expensive to get to, however.

Thank you for sharing. Are you sure you aren't a travel agent? I can't speak for anyone else....I just know, I need a vacation soon!!!!
The more I think about it, I want to go to some place warm. I'm tired of freezing here. Tahiti sounds better all the time. Anyone care to join me?
