on a more serious note... TODAY SUCKED!!!

don't worry for those of you with your fingers crossed regarding the job interview.. all was fantastic there... it's what followed that's just crazy!

so it's pouring with rain when i opened my eyes... i grab my phone from the beside table and it takes me a million years to realise the time... MY ALARM DIDN'T GO OFF!!! (the screen on my mobile cracked and broke a few days ago so i'm using my piece of shit old nokia as it's my only back up and i find myself constantly yelling to people on the other end because i can't hear them... cause that makes sense lol)
so now it's too late to catch the bus right into the city... i'm going to have to drive. i make it to the interview with minutes to spare (lucky we live so close to the cbd) and the interview was perfect
so i meet up with 2 of my friends who work only a few blocks away as it's conveniently lunchtime and tell them how excited i am, but i don't want to get my hopes up... and one of them tells me if this job falls through, her government office is looking to fill administrative roles very soon and they pay even more than the one i've applied for... so positive vibes all round...

head back to where i parked... parking fees for just over 2 hours = $35
ouch... but not the worst thing in the world, especially if things with this job all pan out...
then i have to hand in my employment forms to the government agency that's paying me while i'm a broke-ass jobless bum, and the customer service officer there tells me how much i'll be paid tomorrow... and the figure falls short of what it was last fortnight.. so i question him on it...
apparently my payment would be less as my current tenancy agreement has run out. hmmm.. not to worry he gave me papers to take up to my real estate for them to sign saying that i'm still at the same address paying the same rent blah blah blah...

so i head back out into the pouring rain with the real estate my new destination...

through the rain i drive, singing to the 80's songs playing on my favourite radio station still fairly happy with the world... but all that changed once i said hello to my property manager... let's call her... i dunno... Satan?

so Satan has always been a cow, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that she's overweight and ugly and really shit at her job. during the 18mths we have been living at our current address the only thing that has been fixed was the oven... because it almost killed us. i won't list everything that needs either fixing or replacement because this post is already unusually lengthy for this thread...

anyhow long story short Satan tells me that we are being evicted. this is quite a shock to me even though there was a dispute about rent payments a few weeks before our lease was meant to be renewed but that was all fixed up and Satan assured us that everything was fine... and we never heard anything more about it and have been waiting for an update on when we should head in to the office to resign another lease.
apparently Satan wants me to believe that she called me 3 weeks ago (but never left a voice message as she normally would) telling us that the owner doesn't want to resign an agreement (as we weren't prepared to sign 12mths - we had only ever been on 6mths) and that we have until the end of the week to vacate the premises before the matter goes to court!!!!!!!!!!!!

COURT??????????? legal action?????????? WTF?

one phone call... without at least a voice message???? nothing in the mail? no email??????????????? and we have until the end of the week?

FUCK OFF YOU ****** ** * ******* ****** *** **** **** * etc etc.

so i drive back to the government office in a daze... how appropriate the weather seems now.... i have a different customer service officer this time who i inform about my new 'situation'. he is just lovely... finds out all extra info about rental authorities i can call etc etc. and brings me 2 hard boiled lollies to cheer me up when he returns from retrieving some papers for me

time to head home and break the news... this is just CRAZY!!! CRAZY! CRAZY! CRAZY! i laugh as i begin singing patsy cline's 'crazy'... laughter always IS the best medicine...

i leave the government office for a second time, but didn't get very far as i pull up behind a car with it's hazard lights on at the intersection where i HAVE to turn to get home lol... i just laugh.. and wait patiently... and wait... and wait some more... then i see a blonde lady soaking wet walk towards the car with a jerry can of fuel!!! the poor thing! she puts her bag down on the road and it's quite obvious she's having trouble filling up... so i turn MY hazards on.. take my umbrella from off the backseat and offer my services as she seems to be having a day not unlike my own!

she is Canadian and has also just been at the government agency filling out paperwork as she is in the process of getting a divorce and selling her house after discovering that her husband of 25 years was having an affair...
so she holds the umbrella and opens the fuel tank with a pen from her handbag while i slowly help her fill up telling her that i just found out i'm being kicked out of my rental house lol.

the fuel can is emptied, my good deed for the day complete. the Canadian lady washes her fuel soaked pen in a puddle then reaches into her handbag and insists i take the $20 she shoves into my hand... i decline of course, but she is adamant i take the money and that it will help my current financial situation. she is right, i can't knock it back. i give her a hug and wish her all the best.. i take my umbrella and get back into my car
