Drawn from afar

Now it was Mason's turn to stare at Cara as if there were something wrong with her. He stood for a long moment staring at her hand outstretched in front of him. Finally, he grabbed hold of her hand, softly, still unsure how to handle this sudden change in personality. "Hi, Cara. I'm Mason."

'New friends?' he thought to himself. Then it hit him. She wasn't insane...she wanted to start over. Mason smiled.

"Yeah, sure come on in. I hope you don't mind Pabst. It's kinda my drink of choice," Mason said as he grabbed two PBR's from the fridge. He handed a beer to Cara and cleared his throat. "So, Cara...you live in this building?" Mason asked. He thought it was a dumb question, because he knew the answer, but he wanted to play along.

Cara was glad that her plan had worked, and barely repressed the urge to clap her hands in glee. She followed Mason into the apartment, folding her arms across her chest again- but this time, not in an attempt to cover herself, just an absent gesture of compacting her presence in a new place.

She accepted the can, though she wasn't certain she could claim to mind PBR- or have any thoughts about it whatsoever. She'd never even heard of the stuff until now. Her work brain turned on as she admired the can. Whoever had designed that had planned well. Suggestions of summer in the choice of color, the award-like seal triggering the self-affirmation of a consumer wanting to believe they've made a good choice, yet plain enough that not even the schlubbiest mechanic would feel intimidated. It took her a long moment to process the looks of the can, turning it and frowning.

Only when Mason asked his question did she break her concentration with a light, riotous laugh. She stared up at him, shaking her head lightly and deeply enjoying what she thought was a witty joke- she didn't need to know how accidental it was. "No, actually... just across the street."

Mason took a long sip from his PBR as he tried to look at Cara with a fresh set of eyes. It was difficult at first, given everything that had happened in such a short amount of time, but he wanted this to work. Unlike before, he did everthing in his power to keep his eyes transfixed with hers, instead of roaming around her body. For the first time, he noticed the gray in her eyes, and marvelled at how beautiful they were. An oil painting instantly ran through his mind.

The silence that hung in the room was enough to signal Mason that it must be his turn to speak. "Across the street, huh?", Mason asked as he walked across the room. He peered out the window to look at the building facing his as if it were the first he had ever seen it. "Yeah, I think I've gone over there before, but there were no spaces available...so I got stuck with this place. Believe me, it doesn't always look this nice." He leaned in and whispered, "Someone was helping me clean a little earlier."

As he took another small sip of his beer, Mason began wondering how long things could last like this. 'Why is she doing this for me?' he asked himself. Having always been the brunt of the joke, Mason found it extremely difficult to believe that someone as beautiful as Cara could really be this nice to him.

"If it's not being too intrusive, would you mind telling me a little more about yourself, Cara?"

Mason was running with this crazy plan beautifully, and it thrilled Cara. He was very witty, dancing around their earlier interaction lightly enough not to interrupt the joke. She found the couch and perched on it, crossing her legs and resting the can lightly on her knee. "Well, I'm a transplant from Lancaster. Have been here long enough for the novelty to wear off, but not long enough for my accent to do the same. I have a Masters in Psychology and a Bachelors in Design. I trick people into wanting to buy things by creating logos and packages that create positive associations with the product before they've even put it in their carriage." She paused to grin and take another sip of her beer, gesturing for him to join her on the couch. "And you, Mason?"

Even if nothing else, Mason at least wanted to establish and maintain a friendly relationship with Cara. He couldn't get enough of her voice, and he could stare into those eyes for an eternity. And yet, somewhere in the back of his mind, Mason kept hearing himself say, 'You're gonna fuck up. You always do,' and that refrained him from being overly excited about the prospects of their relationship.

As Cara motioned for Mason to join her on the couch, everything in the room went silent, except for the constant loud thumping of his heart. He began sweating again, thinking, 'This is it. This is where I fuck it up.' He slowly shuffled toward the couch, staring at the vacant spot next to Cara for what seemed like an eternity before he finally got enough courage to sit down next to her. His lips were starting to dry out, despite constantly replenishing himself with beer.

"Yo-," Mason started before clearing his throat. "You have a very interesting job," he finally managed.

Another long chug of beer helped Mason find the words to explain what Cara all ready knew. "I'm a comic book writer and artist," he said. "Independent. Very independent actually," he added.

Cara wasn't quite certain what it was that made Mason take so long to sit. He seemed almost... ill with nervousness, and she could not help but wonder if he still expected retribution, some cagily concealed and cruelly sprung trap beneath her friendliness. It made her heart prick with sympathy, and she made sure not to move an inch away from him when he finally sat, even if this put the two of them just a little closer than she otherwise would have chosen. Instead, she turned her body slightly toward his, giving him the full attention of her eyes as he spoke.

"I'd love to see what you've drawn for you comics sometime, Mason. I've heard that you're really very talented..." Here she winked heavily, doing her best to put him at ease. Normally, Cara would have questioned herself deeply about why it was she was so invested in making Mason feel better. That questioning could come later. For now, the poor boy looked like he was about to get sick all over her flip flops, and for the sake of her pedicure if nothing else, she was going to make him relax.

Mason felt like he was going to lose it. He knew very well that he couldn't show Cara the pictures he had drawn of her, and those were the pieces he was most proud of. 'What should I say?' he thought to himself. For the first time since they met again, Mason's eyes went to the floor. Once his eyes were at the floor, it didn't take long for them to drift over to those beautiful feet in a pair of flip flops. He had to think of something quick if he ever thought there was a chance he could suck on her toes.

"Well," he started, "I'm not so sure how well you'd like the art. I'm interested mostly in horror and things like that, but...nah," Mason said as he verbally discounted his own idea.

'Better now than never,' he said to himself.

"You wouldn't mind being a model sometime, would you, Cara?" he asked sheepishly. "I mean you don't have to or anything, but you really have such a beautiful face. And those eyes..." Mason said.

"Mason, I think we could strike up an excellent arrangement, if you're willing." Cara raised a brow, as if she were pausing for permission, but she knew full well that Mason would be interested in any proposition she could make. "I will be a model for you, whenever you need, in return for two things. One, you will become much more serious about getting your work done and marketing yourself as an artist. Two, you will keep me company when I go out and interact with society on a regular basis."

With a wide grin, Cara put a reassuring hand on Mason's knee, as if she believed he was going to bolt at the idea. "Don't worry, I won't make it too tough on you. Just going to the bar, or a concert, once in a while, until I think you can make it out in the wide world all on your own. Do we have a deal, Mason?"

Cara's Masters was not cheaply earned, though the opportunity to fuck for grades had always been present- she was relatively certain that there wasn't a staid, tweedy professor on the planet who didn't close his eyes and dream of his punk-rock, pierced goth students at least once in a while. She recognized in Mason a man who was well-used to being turned down, a man who had almost entirely given up on social exposure. However, she also saw someone who, with just a little encouragement, could be making errant bespectacled girls giggle and blush... and someone who spent a lot of time admiring her toes. In order to guarantee the "yes" she wanted, Cara decided to exploit that last part. She gently bobbed the foot of her upper crossed leg into Mason's calf, three times- light, teasing bumps in quick succession, the warm flesh of her foot poking the muscle of his calf. She punctuated these motions with a smile, and a perfectly timed "Please, please, please?"

'Fuck me,' Mason thought. The entire idea of going out to interact with others was just the thing he didn't want to be bothered with. He knew he had explained his reasoning for admiring Cara from afar to her, but there was still a little more to it that Mason never mentioned. In the past, he'd made terrible errors in reading signals and started touching a woman that was not particularly thrilled with it. It had happened exactly three times, and ever since, Mason has tried his hardest to avoid things of that nature at all costs.

He looked at his can of beer, and set it down gently on the floor, leaving more than half the can remaining. He didn't want to take that kind of chance with Cara after just getting things started on the right foot again. But then, her hand touched his knee. He closed his eyes. It couldn't be the beer taking control of him yet, as he hadn't had the amount that he normally drinks when feeling depressed. Mason took a deep breath in and out to calm himself. 'See,' Mason thought. 'She's just being nice.'

Mason had been keenly aware that Cara's feet were getting closer to his flesh, and he tried his best to hide his efforts of trying to bump into them on accident. But seemingly out of nowhere, Cara tapped his calf with her feet. 'Was I that obvious?' thought Mason. 'Nah, she can't possibly know that I've been staring at her feet.' He finally shrugged off the notion that Cara was tempting him because she knew he'd loved the look of her feet.

He hung his head low, watching the flip flop dangle from her foot. He smiled. "Sure," Mason said. "Why not? I could always use a model, and I definitely need someone to help show me around. I love the polish on your toes by the way." Mason threw in the last comment just to see how Cara would react.

Victory. Cara did her best to take it graciously, but she was thrilled that Mason's agreement had been so easy to capture. "Wonderful! When are you ready to start? Oh, and thank you- I love this color too. It's called gutter." Cara had a collection of polishes that would rival some nail salons, matching her fingers to her outfit each day, redoing her toes at least twice a week- more often if she was going to wear something that would show them off. No matter what Mason had thought, Cara had indeed noticed the attention he paid, and she wondered if it might pay off in the form of some assistance with her pedicures. As flexible as she liked to think herself, it was never easy.

"Gutter," Mason repeated aloud. He'd make sure to go to the store when he had an extra minute, to buy that polish as well as some other colors that he loved seeing on toes. He closed his eyes briefly, envisioning himself applying the polish to her toes, and blowing them dry. He was becoming so aroused with the thought that he stood up to readjust himself.

'Ready to start?' Mason asked himself. That was a difficult question to answer. He'd always been ready to start meeting new people, he just never had any luck.

"Well, to be completely honest with you Cara, I'm ready whenever you are. I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach, that with you around, I won't be as depressed as I have been in the past when I went out by myself," Mason said, confiding more and more in Cara.

Mason stared at Cara's toes once more, licking his lips while doing so.

Cara stood up too, finishing her beer in a series of quick, fluid swallows that made her tender throat move deliciously. Of course, as long as she was wearing flip-flops, the likelihood of Mason noticing anything about the rest of her body was minimal.

"Well, let's begin, then! Would you want to work here? If you want me to wear something other than this, I can go home and change..." Cara smoothed the shirtdress over her hips, mentally cataloguing what she was wearing under it. Nice panties, of course, and one of her favorite bras- she wouldn't be ashamed if Mason wanted her to strip, but nor did she think she wanted to let him see that much more of her just yet.

Mason watched Cara smooth the dress over her hips, and he wanted nothing more than to sweep her off her feet and carry her to his bedroom. His mind filled with images Cara riding him, moaning as they passionately made love. He forced himself to shut his mind off before getting too aroused. Though Mason had taken many life drawing courses with nude women standing before him, they didn't have the kind of power that Cara held over him.

"No need to go home and change," Mason said. "What you're wearing is perfect."

Mason was thinking about how he wanted Cara to model for him that presented her with the most comfort, and him with a gorgeous view of her body. He couldn't help but think of ways that he could somehow touch her feet. He'd obviously want to make it seem accidental, but he wanted Cara to slip off her flip flops completely so he could see her bare soles.

"Cara, why don't you go ahead and kinda lie down on your stomach on the couch and umm...could you hold your feet up in the air?" Mason asked, hoping she'd leave her flip flops on so he could be the one to take them off. "I'm gonna get my stuff, and set up over here."

A fairly easy position. Cara was both pleased and disappointed that Mason had decided to back off from pushing her buttons. She stretched out on his sofa, propping her elbows in front of her, resting her chin in one hand as she bent her knees to let her feet swing behind her.

Watching Mason move to collect his supplies, Cara lost herself in thought- he had that sort of solid, slightly soft body she liked best in men, the kind that made them actually work in bed instead of admiring their reflections like their more muscular peers. And she rather liked his face, expressive and so quick to blush... yes, forcing Mason to go out into the world and enjoy himself was going to be a great deal of fun, but whether or not she'd help him find some other gorgeous little geek girl or keep him all for herself was a question she had yet to resolve.

Mason was experiencing a new high that he never thought possible. He could easily erase all the bullshit from his mind that brought Cara into his life. What was the most important thing, was that she was here now, and she was nice to him. At first, he had a feeling that she was only acting so sweet out of pity for him, but he was beginning to second guess himself. 'She could've just told me to fuck off,' Mason thought to himself, rationalizing Cara's presence. 'But now...now she's fucking posing for me.'

He turned back to face Cara, seeing how great she looked on the couch for the first time. He almost dropped everything when he noticed that her flip flops were still on. Mason set his pad of paper, pencils, charcoal, and erasers down on the chair. He looked to the window behind him, and back to Cara, making sure the lighting was perfect for the effect he wanted to achieve.

"There we go. Just about perfect," he told her. Mason approached Cara, stopping at her feet. They were inches from his grasp, and his mouth began to water. "If you don't mind," he started, "I'm just gonna slip these off. I want to see the wrinkles in your soles," he said.

Mason grabbed each side of Cara's flip flops, with his thumb and index finger touching just enough of her flesh to drive him wild. He slid them off slowly and with the utmost of care, one foot at a time. "Perfect," he said.

He set the flip flops down on the floor, and went back to his chair to begin drawing his beautiful model. "Have you ever thought of modeling, Cara? You are a great subject," Mason said.

"I think your appreciation of my beauty is somewhat tainted by the fact that you've seen me naked, Mason." Cara teased him lightly, making sure to stay still even as she smiled. "Most artists don't have that priveledge. But yes, I've thought about it- I just don't like the idea that I would have to let so many people stare at me without savaging a single one with witty 'not on your life, buddy' putdowns."

She had felt the tension in him as Mason had pulled off her flipflops, and found herself wondering just how deeply his passion for feet ran. He had been a perfect gentleman this afternoon- well, as gentlemanly as he could be, granted the premise upon which they met- but there was definitely a perceptible change in him when he took off her shoes. Cara decided that she would let him enjoy himself whenever possible, and resolved to buy a half-dozen more pairs at the Chinatown market tomorrow.

Mason started lightly blocking out the form that would eventually become Cara's entire body. It always started with simple shapes like circles and rectangles. Mason had taught himself how to draw as a child. He copied the cartoon characters he appreciated the most growing up, ranging from Wile E. Coyote to Rocko. From those early days, Mason tried to replicate everything that he had seen, until he eventually worked his way to the figure of the naked woman.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that one, Cara," Mason admitted. "I've been told that quite a few times after a modeling session was over. You could still get your licks in when you want to. Plus, naked or not, you're beautiful."

Mason smiled to himself behind his pad of paper. He wasn't aware how it had happened, but he was actually able to talk to a beautiful woman without making a complete ass of himself for the first time in his life.

He looked over at Cara. He thought he saw a smile somewhere on her face, and that made him happy. Mason looked down at Cara's flip flops, sitting there alone on the ground. 'Don't do it,' he told himself. 'You're gonna fuck everything up. Don't do it.'

Mason dropped his pencil to the floor, purposely kicking it closer to her flip flops. "Shit," he said. "Dropped my pencil." Mason set his pad of paper on the floor as he bent down to retrieve his stray pencil. He positioned the paper right on top of Cara's flip flop, and hooked his thumb around it. When Mason sat back in his chair, he let her flip flop fall to his lap. Mason was quickly becoming aroused at the thought that he could be caught at any second. He held his pad of paper higher in the air, obscuring his face as he brought Cara's flip flop to his face, and deeply inhaled the scent left behind by her feet.

A low moan escaped his mouth, but Mason was too preoccupied to notice.

Obviously, Cara had noticed that little manuever. It wasn't exactly the smoothest thing ever perpetrated, after all. While she was confused, she wasn't angry, and she realized she wasn't going to say anything when she heard that little moan. Was Mason's desire to sniff her shoe a little weird? Yes, yes it was. But it wasn't really harming her in any way, and she thought that "getting away with it" might make him a little bit more confident around her. Pretending to lose herself in thought, Cara sat quietly for several long minutes, giving Mason ample time to enjoy himself.

Mason continued sniffing Cara's flip flop for awhile, until even he noticed that it seemed to go on a bit long. Having not really thought this through completely, Mason was unsure of how he would be able to replace Cara's flip flop without her noticing. He had considered his move to get it pretty smooth, but not it was a bit different. He had become fully erect, and there was still more to finish on his drawing. So for the moment, Mason wedged Cara's flip flop in between his legs, resting against his erection. As he did so, his body shivered, shaking the paper along with him.

"Excuse me," he said.

Mason got back to work on the drawings of Cara. He spent time carefully adding shadows to her form, smearing the charcoal with his fingers. After awhile he had finished. "I'm uh, all done," Mason said, still unsure of how he could replace her flip flop.

He looked down at his crotch, and noticed that a little section of her flip flop could be see sticking out between his legs, so Mason quickly pushed it down further. He had forgotten the fact that charcoal had been smeared all over his hands, which left behind a trail of black smudges leading down in between his legs.

This was going to take every last ounce of wide-eyed, aww-shucks diplomacy Cara had left. Despite what her treatment of Mason may have led him to believe, she did not fancy herself a kind girl, and if she found him whacking off with her shoe, he was going to taste the very extremity of unkindness. Still, she was eager to see the drawing, and she stood, padding over to him and moving behind his back.

...damnit. It would be so much easier to be angry about finding her shoe jammed between his thighs, and his pants smeared with charcoal, if he wasn't so frightfully good. Cara leaned closer over Mason's shoulder, the gentle press of her breasts resting lightly against his back. "That's... gorgeous, Mason..." Laughing softly, she shook her head. "If I really thought I looked half as good as I do in the flesh as I do in your drawings, I would have a much more impressive ego."

With a quicksilver motion that still managed to remain remarkably casual- an effect caused more by Cara's attitude than the act- she plucked her flip flop from between his thighs, dropped it on the floor next to its partner, and slid her feet back into them. "I'd like to go out to the bar tomorrow night, Mason. I'd like it even better if you'd come with me. Pick me up around eight?" She flashed a smile over her shoulder as she walked toward the door. The poor boy might survive the fact that her wrist and palm had lightly brushed over his still noticably hard cock as she retrieved her shoe, but she didn't want to see if he'd make it through standing, adjusting, and walking her to the door without keeling over from a blush-induced coronary.

Mason felt himself tense up as Cara pressed her breasts against his back. He was scared of her now more than anything he'd ever been terrified of in his entire life. There was no way he'd be able to quickly replace her flip flop without her noticing. And if he were caught, he didn't know what Cara's reaction would be. 'Fuck,' he thought. 'And things were getting better.'

"Well, you are that beau-," Mason started. He was interrupted when Cara snatched the flip flop from between his legs. He wished she could've kept her hand pressed between his aching cock a little longer, but the instant was gone. Mason stared at the floor, awaiting to be verbally assaulted for his actions ... yet again. But instead, he was invited out to a date.

"Sure, Cara," Mason responded, thankful that he hadn't gotten his ass kicked. He stood up, covering his crotch with the pad of paper in an attempt to hide what they both knew had just happened.

"Look, I know that I'm not really painting a good picture of myself for you, and ..." Mason said. He looked down at the floor for a long time. "I'm sorry."

Mason scratched his head, trying to think of some way to segue into a normal conversation, but he was beginning to think that might be impossible considering his actions. He was angry at himself, but the self-loating wouldn't start until much later. It always came to him in a wave, and he would always spend hours hating himself.

"See you tomorrow, Cara," Mason said, in a deflated voice.

Cara had let Mason off the hook very easily last night, with a sweet smile and a reassurance that he wasn't half as bad as he thought. Tonight, though, she had no such pure intentions.

She had always been a big fan of immersion therapy- making someone repeat an act that would normally cripple them emotionally until it no longer held its sting, its threat. To that end, she had pulled out all the stops while dressing for the evening.

A long-sleeved, slinky black top draped off both shoulders, exposing the tender, creamy flesh and the fine brushstrokes of tattoo that swam over her skin- as well as a considerable amount of cleavage. Her jeans were dark, ripped and frayed artfully, and clinging to her legs as though they were a coat of primer. Though they made her ass positively delectable, and stopped right at her knee, revealing lengthy, well-toned calves, Cara knew that it would be her shoes that captured Mason's attention. Blue and black brocade stilettos, open-toed with a series of criss-crossing straps that wrapped over the top of her foot and around her ankles, they made her a good four inches taller, and revealed the midnight-blue pedicure she had given herself in preparation.

She gave herself one more once over in the mirror, patting her silky hair and pouting her perfectly stained lips while she waited for Mason to ring. He would find her apartment building considerably more upscale than his, but she hoped he wasn't the sort to be intimidated by a girl who made a little money. If he wanted to be intimidated, Cara could think of many much more amusing ways to oblige him than dropping some cash on a marble foyer and a uniformed doorman.

Mason took a drink from a can of PBR as he tore his room apart trying to find the perfect outfit to wear out with Cara. He would have to do his best tonight to impress her, or least not make a complete fool out of himself like he had with her flip flop lodged next to her erection. But he was quickly finding out that he had very few clothes that one might consider "suitable attire" to wear in order to meet new people. Sure, he could strut in the bar wearing his vintage Batman T-shirt, but he didn't think it would do much to help him.

At last, he had found his dressier shirts, two in total, and they were wadded up in a ball. Mason unraveled them and sighed. He'd have to iron them in order to leave the house. He ventured into his closet and took out the ironing board that had been used when he still lived at home. Next to it, was a box, unopened, with the iron inside. "Hurry it up, dipshit," Mason scolded himself.

Mason put on some music to take his mind off the fact that he was alone in an apartment, attempting to iron his clothes for the first time in his life. He filled a large drinking cup with water, and started to pour it inside the iron. It wasn't until the iron started overflowing, that Mason realized they don't, in fact, need that much water. He set up his dark blue button-down shirt on the ironing board, and started to smooth out the wrinkles. "Don't know why Ma always complained about this. It's not that difficult," he said. Mason set the iron face down on his shirt as he ran to his room to grab the PBR.

"Fuck me," he said as he re-entered the living room to find the iron was scorching his shirt. That left the maroon button-down shirt, with short sleeves ... and he couldn't fuck up on that one.

Mason ironed this last good shirt that he had left with all the care in the world. Slowly he pressed on, until he heard his alarm clock ringing from his bedroom. Time to leave. Mason stood the iron up, turned the dial off and unplugged it, all to ensure that he would be returning to find his apartment in tact. There were still some wrinkles near the bottom of the shirt, but he was fine with it. He grabbed a bouquet of flowers out of the measuring cup he used as a vase.

Mason scurried across the street with the flowers, into Cara's building. The minute he walked inside, he was dumbfounded. He actually heard himself whistle in astonishment at the size and beauty of her building. He stepped into the elevator to go to her floor and was amazed that with the ten other people inside with him, he still wasn't cramped for space.

He reached her door, and stopped a minute to make sure everything was in order. Flowers, check. Wallet, check. His hair was as good as he could make it. He knocked on Cara's door, waiting to see how beautiful she looked tonight. 'Look at her face first ... then catch a glimpse of her feet,' Mason thought to himself.

Cara moved quickly to open the door, refusing to greet Mason with anything less than a bright, extremely excited smile. She let him drink in the fine, uninterrupted line of her jaw, down her throat, over the crest of her collarbone, lower and lower still... "Perfectly punctual... oh, you... you brought me flowers?"

Genuinely touched and thoroughly thrown off her game, Cara blushed like a schoolgirl and stepped back to let Mason enter. Her heels reverberated delightfully on the wide, well-polished wood flooring. Her apartment looked torn out of some Vanity Fair spread on the latest indie princess- a doubtlessly expensive, eminently tasteful, and yet funky, eclectic mix of styles and patterns, somehow coming through with a unified aura of high style, hot youth, and hard cash. A fully-functioning jukebox refitted as an mp3 system bubbled perkily next to a blue velvet Victorian fainting couch with delicate gold-foiled legs.

"Just let me get these in a vase, okay? I.. I can't believe you brought me flowers..." Cara carefully took the bouquet from his hands, smiling fit to burst. She tapped into the kitchen, settling the flowers in a wide-mouthed milk bottle and fluffing them delicately with her fingertips...

'Goddammit, why did I have to scorch the blue shirt? Could've matched her toes," Mason thought to himself.

He was thrilled that Cara like the flowers he had purchased. He was always brought up to never go into someone's home empty-handed ... plus he figured he needed some sort of gift to offer up as some kind of apology for masturbating with a flip flop.

Mason walked around Cara's apartment, still in amazement of what this place had to offer. It put his place to shame, but he just knew that if he lived here, it would be messier than the place he has now. More space to Mason, meant more room to throw shit and pick it up later. "This place is incredible, Cara," Mason said.

He watched he walk into the kitchen, flowers in hand, and he couldn't help watching the way her ass swayed with each step. The click of her heels on the wood floor was a constant reminder to Mason that she had changed the color of her toenails since yesterday. He couldn't help thinking that it had a little bit, if not everything, to do with him.

"Well, after, you know," Mason cleared his throat. "I felt that I needed to get you flowers or something to make up for it. I didn't know which flower was your favorite, so I, uhh, well, asked the girl working at the counter to help me out. I'm just glad you like them."
