Drawing a blank

Yeah, that's what I was understanding. I'm flying in to Hamilton.

It's sad when bad things happen to good people.

Cue the Hamilton Jokes...

The best thing about the Hamilton Airport is that you don't have to actually go to Hamilton to get out of it.

Hamilton: where the named the new Football Stadium after a Hockey Player.

Remember "Cootes Paradise" is still part of Hamilton Harbour.

And you thought I hated Edmonton... For ten years of my life "The Hammer" was "the city" if I needed something.

(yes, I'm from Toronto, why do you ask?)

Hey, Hamilton is all the rage right now!

what?

oh...different Hamilton.

Hey, I'm just landing there :p not staying there *chuckle*

*Sings "Ontario Sucks" quietly*

No, I couldn't live there any more. I live in the sticks on Lake Huron, three hours west of T.O.

Ahhh, okay.

I saw something on the maps that caught my attention. Let me go find the name and ask if it's worth visiting. Likely not this trip, but in the future

Edit: over in Bruce Peninsula park. Some interesting stuff

Go. Just go. It is one of the hidden gems in Ontario. Sadly it got written up in eXplore and Backpacker magazines in the same month and summers are really crowded. The Grotto itself is worth the trip. The Escarpment is indescribably beautiful. Stormhaven beach is an amazing campsite (accessible on foot only, over the roughest section of the Bruce Trail). A little farther and you get to the caves at Halfway Log Dump. Worth a look.

The stunted tortured cedars atop the escarpment are the oldest trees in Ontario, some over 500 years old.

The park is home to a healthy population of black bears and a dwindling population of Massasauga rattlers. They're mostly well mannered.

Oh, then there are the stars...

I've camped there every month except March. October and November are my favourites.

Good to know. It's.4 hours from where I'll be staying and I can't spend that amount of time in a vehicle right now. I'll be sure to make my way out there when I can though. The escarpment is what caught my eye initially.
