Dr. Mabiuse, OG Lit Author and Beloved AH contributor, passed away in September, 2022

I will miss him, and his death makes me feel very ancient.
It seems that he had been in nursing homes for a while. I don't really know what happened. There is a video of his funeral on youtube, I can link it if you are interested. I watched it and cried.

Please do give us the link. I haven't been in touch with him for a number of years, but always considered him a great friend, critic, and mentor. He will be sorely missed.

Very very much so. I think he had a personal connection with every one if us on the author forums...

I used to call him and Perdita my lit "pa" and "ma" 💗

Can't promise it was an appropriate parental relationship. But I felt like they were the matriarch and patriarch of the boards in many ways.

I didn't know him on the forums, but I discovered his work early in my days at Lit. A superb writer.

We write stories and we come here to escape reality, but things like this are a wake up call that even here is real life and that includes both making friends and losing people along the way.

I had several very interesting-and often spirited-discussions with him regarding views of BDSM in both real life and fiction. I won't say he was a great writer, because he still is a great writer. I see writing as a form of immortality, our stories will outlive us and therefore keep us alive in spirit

Like Ogg, I now feel old. He made the first comment here on my first story posted. His words kept me going.

He will be missed by those who knew him and by those who didn't have the pleasure of knowing him.

Sad news. Thanks for posting on his passing. An excellent writer and storyteller. I edited a couple of his Excessica (publisher) books.

This is sad news. He was before my time as an author, so I never interacted with him, but I did read some of his stories over the years and his stories were more interesting than most.

An excellent storyteller and wordsmith. I was thinking just the other day that it had been a while since he was seen in these parts.

A sad revelation. The good Dr. was an excellent writer and a positive influence in the AH for many years.

In his time Dr Mabeuse was a very helpful member of the AH, giving cogent advice and supporting authors. It has been a shame that in recent years he couldn't contribute as he had done, but he is fondly remembered.

How soon we forget. Dr Mabeuse was a significant and influential member of the AH but it is a few years since he was active. So many people are new and do not know who he was, and those that did have moved on.

It's not that soon, though. As far as I can recall he had stopped contributing to the AH before I joined the AH, which was six years ago this month. A significant portion of today's AH community would never have interacted with him.

I know. Many of us are after his time. But the ancients like me remember him fondly.

Yes, before my time, too - I started here in 2014, when the biggest on-going saga was the contest wars and the hostile cliques that came out of the woodwork every time. I knew of him as a writer, not a forum contributor.
