That's one of the liberating things about the anonymity of the board; I would never walk up to Peachykeen in real life and tell her she has a AA Hudson County ass. But I'd be thinking it. Here I can say whatevah, doesn't cost me anything, not expecting anything in return (no quid pro quo), 'cause I'm really not giving anything of value. The only value my opinion has is that which the reader assigns to it.

I don't think the praise is insinere. But I don't think of this board being very anonymous- in fact, there's very little anonymity at all.

You can tell Peechykeen she has a nice as on lit, because there is a distance between the two of you.

People consistantly argue that the board is no different than a bar or party. I take it that you are one who believes it is different (and I would agree).

Maybe it's just that I receive compliments more sincerely in person. The rest is just theatre to me.
