Don't you just hate it when.......

Oh to hell with the Advil, pass the Darvocet.

MUCH empathy! If you like spicy foods, now would be a good time to indulge.

I am just getting over the same thing

and it was horrible! But I did find only 1 thing that really worked for me. It's Benadryl Allergy/Sinus headache.
It was even better than my normal Nyquil.

try a beef and jalenpeno pizza...it works wonders for the sinuses

I read one of those holistic type books on sinus infections and it gave a big 10-4 to spicy foods, if it's hot enough to make your nose run, it'll help your sinuses. It also recommended hot steamy showers (hot and steamy from the hot water, not the activities in said shower though I'm sure that wouldn't hurt either) to help loosen all that gunk trapped in your sinuses, followed by gallons of water to keep your mucus loose and prevent that sick to your stomach feeling after it does start running. Last but not least, ibuprofin because the anti-inflammatory aspect will reduce inflammation in your sinuses which is causing the pain to begin with. I've also found that a humidifier during these winter months helps. Good luck dude!

Poor baby. Wish I could help you. Much sympathy coming your way.

Please see a doctor for this condition. Infections can be cured. It is possible to have severe complications from untreated infections of this type. Besides it is just plain uncomfortable to feel that way. BTW before taking those over the counter remedies please talk with your doctor or the office to see what they reccomend. Espicially if taking antidepressants or antihypertensives.

Dr. BlondeBeauty, reporting for duty...

Bushido, I've been through the same thing before. Do you think that it's a cold, or is there a possibility that you have seasonal allergies? In the past, I used to get bad allergies in the early spring. I was miserable. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and my doctor prescribed two allergy medicines, Allegra and Flonase, and they are lifesavers. The only bad thing is that they take a few days to start working. If your sinuses don't go away or get any better, you can talk to your physician about these medications (or other similar ones).

Hope you feel better soon! Some quick tips:
1. Close the windows.
2. Drink something warm when you wake up in the morning...hot tea, coffee, even hot chocolate.
3. Inhaling warm air is supposed to help clear the air ways, too. Someone mentioned hot showers above, but a humidifier (especially at night) can work wonders too.

Good luck!

My poor baby. All sick and pitiful. I know what would make you feel all better........

A trip to the damn doctor. Go. Mush. Get yourself there. NOW.

*tapping foot* I'm waiting. Go.

Update

Couldn't stand it anymore, went to the Doc's this AM.

I'm on Keflex and hot compresses until Tuesday.

Now who's coming to nursemaid me?

*sigh*

I will but I'm not wearing the damn outfit this time.

:) Hope you're feeling better.
