The US represents more than a quarter of Columbia’s exports. They’ve been accepting deportations from the US for years. Their president apparently got his panties in a bunch because the recent batches were sent in military planes. If wants to be baited into a trade war with his country’s biggest market, he’ll regret it. He can’t win. I’m betting this tiff blows over quickly.
Your argument applies perfectly to this other situation:
Canada and Mexico represent 33% of US exports. If Doddering Donnie wants to start a trade war with his country’s biggest markets, he’ll regret it. He can’t win.
