I think you also have to consider Elvis as a micromanagement Dom...given he used to choose and buy all Priscilla's clothes, dictate what she wore every day and for every occasion, chose and instructed how her make-up was to be worn at all times, chose and ordered her hair colours and styles throughout their relationship, chose what she was to eat, and basically groomed her to be the woman he wanted her to be plus expected her to be available at all times and sit and wait for him until he had time to give her some attention, no? Of course we probably shouldn't mention her age when he moved her into Graceland and his bedroom. :(

Catalina :catroar:

Didn't Prince do the same thing to Carmen Elektra?

I think the assless pants would throw me off...

My stepdad has met Nicholas Cage and he's an asshole. And he doesn't scream dominant to me, either.

OMG I love Antonio! :p

I'm not a huge fan of Antonio, but he does set off my domdar. He also sets off my codependant and enabeler alerts.

I love the pic of Gary Oldman as Dracula.. yes.. that character sets off my domdar.. I love that scene.. "Take me away from all this death" and the look on his face while she's drinking and he wraps his arms around her...

I also .. sorry for the campyness of this..but John Wayne.. not the cowboy..but the man he plays in Donovan's Reef and the Quiet Man.. just has this commanding presence without having to force himself on anyone..

What about David Bowie's character in The Labrynth... and not so much the actor.. while he's one of those "makes me hot".. but the character Edmund Dantes in the Count of Monte Cristo..the character in the book.. the one who gets out of prison is very commanding..

Once he found his balls in McLintock and took control of Maureen O'Hara he was rather Dommie - don't ya think?

Spanking her on main street in front of the whole damn town?

(the shovel was over the top for me)

Yes, the only time I thought this guy was hot. I worked with a woman who told me that she had her first orgasm from fantasies about this character.

Then you HAVE to see Quiet Man.. with Malinborn out of the house this weekend.. I might just have to watch it.. but he doesnt beat her in front of everyone..but he literally drags her from the train station to a field where her brother is working.. has one of my favorite lines ever.. a little old woman runs up to him with this big stick and says, "Here sir, a nice stick to beat your lady"... again.. Maureen McGovern... who can be very dominant as well... but I guess, in a way.. it's her learning to submit to him.. while trying to force him to submit to her..

I know the scene very well. I have seen that movie about 8 times over my many years.

I love John Wayne movies to watch, and at the same time am troubled by the male modeling problems they have caused several generations of men - but that is fodder for another thread.

Just a bit of curiosity after looking through this thread: is this about perceived domliness or perceived "hawtness" - it's a little hard to tell from my perspective.
