Hi BS

here is the first of my two contributions for tonight (only had a quick look in the albums to see what I could scan).

This is Shani. She was a rescue dog, from the same centre as you got Hector but many many years before. I think we must have had her when I was about 10-12 i.e. mid to late 70's. Dad lent her his cap for this one LOL.

Lol she looked most uncomfortable in that cap, but cute!

She didn't let a silly thing like a camera disturb her with a bone did she?

(Think you can add a pic on edit with this new format can't you?)

My mum had a Welsh springer called Misty for a while, when mum collapsed it was summer and the back door was open, Misty rushed out to at least 2 neighbours but, they, not being dog people didn't realise what she wanted and Mum lay there all night. She had mild hypothermia when she was found as well as the effects of a bad stroke. She died 10 days later and her sisters daughter (I won't acknowledge any relationship to her!) took Misty and I never saw her again!! :(

Will find and post pics of her later on!

Thanks for sharing your pics Foxy!

Hi, Big Salami! What a great idea for a thread! Both of your dogs are beautiful. Can I ask what breed(s) Blaze is? My oldest baby, Chelsea, is white german shepard/yellow lab mix. Blaze looks like he might have some white german shep too? The first is a picture of her when she was a puppy and everyone tried to steal her from me. My youngest baby, Maddie, is australian shepard/german shepard mix. She was still a puppy when she started to play tug of war with Chelsea. The last picture shows her with my mother-in-law's cat, Domino. They all have awfully difficult lives and are far, far from being spoiled in any way :D

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to show off my girls!

Okay, I can't help myself LOL. I have to show off a few more. Mallory is my Scottie from when I still lived with my parents. They wouldn't let me take her when I left :( She passed away last April. Whenever she got too hot, she would take a lap around the pool. She and Chelsea absolutely adored each other. Mystic is my mother-in-law's black lab/irish setter mix. She's a sweetie too. I have one more I want to share in my next post (can only add 5 pics/post).

Okay, here's the last one. Is it obvious yet that I'm an animal lover? Especially dogs.

I just love everyone else's postings too! What a fun way to show off our best friends!

I was just wandering Lit when I came across this thread. All the dogs in here are great looking.Hope you don't mind but I wanted to add my 2 dogs. Liza is the shepard cross. We adopted her from the Humane Society, she's now 10 years old. Quincy is the Cocker Spaniel. He's 8 years old.About 5 years ago he went blind from glacucmo(sp?). Btw my name is Penny. :)

Hi yourself SS, before I comment on the dogs in your life, I'd like to point out that I am a pussy lover too in every sense of the word and I love that Av!!

Now, thanks for the compliment about the thread, once I saw there was a thread for cats I went lookin' for dogs but, couldn't find any so, here we are!!
Blaze is a pure bred German Shepherd, long haired and officially "Champagne" colour. Registered with the UK kennel club, DoB 18th July 2000.

I love the pics of your babies, Chelsea looks very cheeky and cuddlesome and Maddie looks to be well named!! Blaze is well named too as he dashes about the place leaving a trail of scorched earth behind him!!
I also have a cat (see Cat thread!) and although she is just tiny, she rules the roost round here! She tends to stand a lot more from Hector than from Blaze though and Hector is happy to leave her to her own devices. Blaze is the opposite however and is often to be seen walking close behind her, nose to ass until she's had enough and then, she turns and "KERPOWEE*%"@+*!%!! she whacks him, right on the nose!! He blinks, pulls back and then goes in for more!! Daft dog!!
They do get on OK though but, when Blaze 1st came to me, he had no discipline and had been taught to chase cats and squirrels!! He don't do that any more and is for the most part a well behaved boy! He does like to jump up and kiss my visitors though!!

It is obvious your babies are NOT spoiled too, no more than mine are, just ruined!! LMAO

Thanks again for coming and hope to see you here again, I'm sure there will be lots and lots of great pics posted when people find us.

Hiya HLS, nothing at all hun, and I love doing it too!

Just as I'm typing an ambulance is passing my house, sirens blaring and Hector is doing his "Hound of the Baskervilles" Impression, he's really funny and now Blaze is learning from him too!

I love your pic HLS and hope to see more of both of them please! they look really a cute pair!

will tell more anecdotes about my lot as time goes by! I have loads to tell, I've had dogs since I was just a lil boy and my late wfe and I used to breed, show and judge Great Danes. I have a plethora of stories to tell.

Thanks for coming hun. xxx

Hiya mark, thanks for coming, good to see you! Had to do something for dogs, cats can't have it all their own way can they? (ok, maybe they can but, there's room for dogs too! LOL)

Blaze is pretty nice, thanks for saying so, he is quite a character too and makes a fuss of anyone I invite in or friends that he knows are allowed in. Comne to the door when he doesn't know you though and until Dad says you can come in, guard your throat, he wants to taste it! A great cxomfort to know that "unwelcome" visitors would have to deal with him first! His back up (Hector)aint too shabby either though he is a big softy at heart, I know he wouldn't be too pleased if anyone were to try to hurt me!

Have seen your cats over on the Cat thread and love them, they do get into some piccles don't they (not to mention boxes!) (oops, soz wasn't supposed to mention boxes!)
Look forward to see the pics of your Aunts dogs when you post them for us!

have a good day.

LOL, SS those pics are just great, have to say that Scotties have never been my favourite breed but, never had much contact with them! Mallory looks really cute and reminds me of Burt Lancaster in that pool, LMAO .

Nothing against small dogs really just that, I don't like to have to bend over to pet them, not good for my poor ol' aching back!! LOL

 You're an animal lover SS? I would never have known it!! PMSL

Good to see you again, keep popping in won't you? you're very welcome here.

Hello Penny, of course we don't mind, that's what the thread was started for, we want you to see our dogs and we want to see yours too!
Show me yours and I'll show you mine!! LOL

Sorry to hear about Quincys Glaucoma but, bet he gets about ok now doesn't he? it's wonderful how animals recover and compensate for the loss of any of their senses isn't it?

come see us often Penny won't you?

happy sunday BS and to all who visit today. :rose:

my lil one seems to have found a comfy place to take a nap :)

Blaze is very much a character that is true, and I will be posting the pics of my aunts exceedingly fat chocolate lab and her yorkshire terrier some time!

Thanks HLS and it sure does look like a comfy place but, your lad doesn't look in the least bit tired!
Unlike some I found earlier!

Hope you enjoy them!
