We have considered marriage. Atleast the girls are in his name which I feel is right. However, the main thing that keeps us from not getting married is our religions... I'm RC and he is Anglican or something... and Mum being Italian and 100% staunch Catholic insists in T being converted.

I don't really go for all that persuasion stuff, so we both stay neutral on that issue... better that way.
