Scones are difficult to come by in this part of the world. I don't know anyone who bakes them at home, and I know only one bakery that makes them -- they'd probably be pretty good if I ever got up there in the morning; instead I pick them up late in the day and they're sort of stale.
My pecan pie, on the other hand, is home made by me!
And it doesn't go stale, at least not in the amount of time it takes for it to disappear!

Sheesh Zuke if you can make pie you can make scones, it's even easier

Pro'lly so. The pies are just at Christmas time -- not too much trouble, but way too many calories to have on hand year round.

The worst calories in scones are the butter and jam you pile on them lol, just eat them plain, I do. Especially since I make mine with butter and fruit anyway

Hmm. Maybe next time I have a free Saturday morning -- which ought to be in April or so -- I'll see about making fruit scones. And eat them thinking of you! My wife has wondered about my sly smiles for years, so she won't notice anything different...
