Bennie played with Ike Turner in the '50s, and said he taught Ike to play guitar -- Turner was a piano player, originally. I think Bennie exagerated some -- it's not like Turner had never touched a guitar, but Bennie taught him how to think about it, how to play the instrument, not just play a tune.
