That's got my attention!

No, I don't mean the shouting bit.

You're right about leading me into temptation, young lady. Our next trip to the UK is supposed to be northerly, but I'm wondering if I can talk my wife into a side trip to Essex....

:D I know you didn't mean the shouting bit * bounces *

We have some great history this way and Englands only working silk mill, they make silk for the queen

Lots of old buildings and soooooo many eating places it's ludicrous

You may feel me bouncing back.... :nana:

History is good -- we're big on castles and cathedrals (I believe Essex does well in these categories) and neolithic standing stones and iron age hill forts (not much in Essex) and Roman remains (not sure what's left in Essex) and museums. And food. And theater. And landscape. But I don't know if we can pack the Orkneys, the Isle of Skye, York, and Essex into the same two week holiday.

*Giggles* Had that happen before

No, I reckon you need at least a week if not longer for essex alone, we have roman remains in colchester
Our local church has been established since the year 900, think they may have built new ones at a few points in history since then :D Pretty sure there are some fairly good museums too, oh and the houses, man some of those have to be seen, all the old gabling and windows that hang over the paths

Sounds wonderful! I wind up spending almost as much on film and developing as I do on airfare....

Get yourself a decent digital cam and some memory cards, save you a fortune in the long run and no messing about changing rolls of film, just pop out the old card and put in a new one, really cheap are memory cards now. And you can play around with your pics with a decent pic program, cut out all the bits/people that always seem to turn up when you get them developed

(I confess I've heard about Roman remains in Colchester but if you'd asked me to find it on a map I couldn't have done!)

Well, I'm off to dinner. Do take care of yourself!

Yeah, I've resisted getting one -- still fond of an emulsion of silver salts on transparent film....

Well, see you tomorrow.
