Being a straight male my attitude towards musicals is pretty ... let's say ... defensive. Never seen one, never intented to.

But now I've seen the trailer for 'Phantom Of The Opera' and I was blown away by it.

The little music that's in it caught my ear and I can't stop whistling it since then.

I also already downloaded some songs, informed myself about the story and plan on buying the soundtrack.

Oh my god, what happened to me since the start of 2005????

*ahem*

Would seem so... :D

Actually, when they did the rock version of this, or blended it with rock for a trailer or some deal like that, I thought it was excellent. Only heard the theme from it though.

Yes, you're gayer than Quentin Crisp singing a Judy Garland number. Here's your honorary membership pin; lines forms behind Carson ;)

Actually, I think it quite a good musical, albeit with a few lyric lines that I don't like. I particuarly enjoy the "notes" songs, with the quick, semi-frantic singing as they open his string of missives. "Les Miserables" is another favorite, and I think one could hardly find anything affected or prissy in that - lots of blood and battle and, well ... rather manly behavior in it. But for me, the best will always be "Sweeney Todd." Blood, death, murder, insanity, and cannibalism - and, oh yes, a musical.

I would say No.

I am, and I hate the Phantom of the Fucking Opera.

You're just in denial. Isn't it time you embraced your secret yearnings?

The show itself ain't no thang ... but I love Andrew Lloyd Weber's arrangements.

"Music of the Night" (especially the Streisand/Crawford duet) is the most seductive song I've ever heard.

Actually the line forms in front of me, facing the other way...

Snoop....please.

I like musicals...I've done musicals...as a matter of fact, if you had a high school aged boy that was having trouble meeting women, get him in the school musical. Lots o' gals, always a shortage of guys...and the girls who see it but aren't in it usually like that the guys:
1) aren/t hung up on the macho shithead thing
2) can dance
3) can talk

as to the matter of orientation...Carson wishes it were other than it is...don't you babe? *wink*

(of course it don't hurt if you can beat the hell out of the guys who want to hassle you...I guess I do have a little "macho" in me...)

That wins my booked-in-advance nomination for "Year's Most Tantalizing Post."

I had a post in another thread that I think expalined my attitude pretty well...damned if I know which one.

I'm attracted to people not gender...and I don't like the word "never"....but I have difficulty picturing myself there.

Gawd, the women get me in enough trouble!!!!! Add a whole 'nother set of possible playmates? Just might kill my wife....or at least send her to a shrink...

Phantom is a cool musical, kinda like Cats or Tommy. It's ok to like them.

But if you start downloading songs from The Music Man, Singing in the Rain and Oklahoma, we'll have to give you a revaluation. ;)

BRB. Gotta go wash the fringe out on my surrey; it got muddy after I was dancin the other night. But it's ok, I just got an up-to-date brush from Kansas City that was delvered via Wells Fargo Wagon from River City, Iowa.

BTW, does that mean we need to re-evaluate John, Paul George & Ringo? ('Til There Was You) ;)

Not to a woman - in a LTR with a man though and he nags more than most wives. :)

Well that to me is just awesome.

Something about a gay man is a major turn on to me. Is that extremely odd?

Glad to know that you are happy though :)

I think you need to go into really, really specific detail about any and all games you enjoy playing.
