Does this ever happen to anyone else?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't sure where to post it. My problem is that my stories lose votes! Let me explain. One of my stories had 72 votes and the votes kept declining until they were down to 68. Well, apparantly, more people voted on my submission and they climbed back up to 70, but today they are at 69. I'm getting very frustrated with this, as I've emailed Literotica and never received a response. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what's going on?

The moderators sweep for troll votes. everytime your votes have gone down, the mods have removed repeat votes, or troll bombs.

Ah, I see. Thank you sooooo much for clearing that up for me. Twas freaking me out! :)

Welcome to the AH, AppleBiter! :)

Much luck,

Yui

That vote vanishing stuff is very frustrating when the story has almost ten votes.

Good to see a new face AppleBiter

Thanks, cantdog! :) And, yes, I agree that it's frustrating especially at that pivotal time when you could have an H if only they'd let you keep some of the damn votes!! I have one poem that has a 4.78 but only 9 votes (some were stricken) that has been that way for weeks now. Arghh. Oh well. I mean, I completely see the point of them doing that, and it's really to our benefit, but that doesn't stop it from sucking ass sometimes.

Hello and welcome :)

Isee folks have sorted you out as to whyvotes sometimes disappear so i'll just leave it at that :)

PMs to Laurel work much better than emails.

AB,

Welcome to the AH. You might try puting a link to your poem on your signature line. Since I managed to pull it off, you know that's not too complicated. If all else fails try for pity and begging. They work, believe me. If it wasn't for begging and pity, I never would have gotten laid.

As snopper sugggested, send Laurel PM's, not e-mails. Apparently e-mails can get lost in all the spam. PC's are only for Lit folks.

Hi Applebiter,

Welcome to the AH. :rose:

Now you've got an answer to your disappearing votes, pull up a chair and stay a while.

"Twas." I like you. Have an apple.

What I want to know is why votes have disappeared several times on my poems. I've had one large sweep, where I lost 3 or 4 H's because my number of votes went down, two smaller sweeps, and last night another larger sweep. One poem lost 5 votes. No one has voted for them since the last big sweep. Kinda annoying. I mean, I don't want to cheat or have fake votes or whatever, but it's getting kind of sad. :)

Hello and welcome... ya want frustration.. it's when three of your first (possibly not deserving of an H anyway)... have not had a single vote in weeks.... and their scores all stand at.... 4.49!!!!...... errrrrggggggggg.. that last .01 vote!!!....

lmao.. guess I just gotta live with it!

Check your scores though.. usually you find that they went UP after a sweep... you lose votes but from those giving you a 1... the infamous trolls!.... although sometimes it's from someone who voted twice

I just checked and last night my stuff collectively lost 44 votes. Most of that was the poetry, which didn't have that many votes to begin with. :(

How do they know which votes are 5-bombs?

I ask because if I find an author I really like, I'll read and vote on all their stories and poems, especially if there are only a few. Or I'll vote on all the chapters of a story.

I'd hate to think my 5 votes were being removed because I might have given three poems a 5 within a 10-minute period.

This happened to me once not long after I'd submitted my story. I only lost about 2 votes though.

Thanks for all the help and welcomes, guys! I feel so loved! :)

You realize we're all running over to give you 1's don't you?

Yeah, after last night's poetry sweep the score went way way up on one poem, but I'm left with only one vote! LMAO.

.... and two comments!

I have no idea how that's possible but it proves ....

weirdness abounds.
