Does the Axe body spray really work?

Ok, I'm not as dense to think that I would have women really falling for me the moment I used that spray. But to those that have used it, or know people who use it, does it improve responses?

Just like any cologne, body spray, etc., it will only attract those that actually LIKE the scent... There is no ONE scent that will attract EVERYONE to you.

My husband had some of that and I thought it was horrid. I wouldn't go near him if he had it on. But that's just me.

It will not actually ATTRACT anyone, it would be just pleasant to whoever likes the scent. Any other thing about it is just marketting...

You're better off investing in a quality cologne you like and feel confident wearing.

It kills most common household pests on contact and was allegedly used by Saddam Hussein to gas Kurdish insurgents in 1993.

Well there are a lot of different scents of Axe firstoff, and one of them smells horribly retched, but most of the others I think smell good and most of my friends are in love with...we nicknamed one of their limited edition scents 'rapalicious'....but all the same a guy wearing that is only the icing on the cake, there's gotta be a lot more to a guy then his scent obviously.

Also take into mind that myself and my friends are of the college age group, don't know what kind of women you're trying to attract.

You also have to remember things are going to smell different in the can vs. on your body, and what might smell great on someone else may be horrible on you.

OK, this was genuinely funny... LOL

I use AXE myself. "Phoenix" scent, I believe.

My lover doesn't like it - but then, she prefers I use nothing at all. Of course, my  honey's  wish is my command, so only on days I won't be seeing her (and if I had my way, there would never be a day I don't see her) will I use it. Sometimes I think she's a bit daft because she says she loves me :nana: using nothing at all, but hey, if she's telling me she loves it :nana: who am I to argue?

What it comes down to is what a number of posters have already said - it depends on who's wearing it, and who's smelling it. All other considerations, including marketing schemes, are irrelevant.

Absolutely correct. There's nothing like the natural scent of a man (to me, anyway) I really don't believe you're going to get anymore "responses" with women regarding the deoderant you wear. (IMO)

I agree natural is good (ummm....most of the time), but even as sensitive as I am to scents, the smell of hubby's deoderant and a couple of colognes does turn me on A LOT. :p It was the same when I was single, or even now in a storel or something...a person who smells good never fails to turn my head. But the catch is that it has to be one of the few scents that doesn't make me ill.

Axe = Lynx, right? (I'm in the UK)

I absolutely adooooore Africa! If I smell a guy wearing it walking past me I *will* turn my head! It's the only one I reeeally like though, the others are a bit icky..

it' doesn't matter how it smells in the can/bottle its all about how it smells on you, and if its a good match the smell will linger with the person who likes it.

I'm in college and every tuesday and thursday on my way to my one class i pass by this guy, he wears curve, i know the sent and i know his sent. I know him by his sent and even if i dont see him walk pass me because we hit the crowd i know he walked pass me. hmm and now that im single again i might make the most outta his smell.

I have yet to find the Axe scent that will cause my wife to go gaga over aluminum like the commercial shows...

Otherwise, a few of the scents are ok. Everyone just has to keep in mind that different scents work differently with different body Ph's.

I have a gay friend at home, but whenever I wear "Sun" he hangs sniffing on my neck and gets gleary eyes. :)

I feel like the biggest dork at the moment reading through some of these. I smelled in on a friend once and fell in love with the scent.. and the current bf doesn't wear sprays or anything.. so when I get into my car I spray it in there. I dunno.. I just love that smell LOL.

Yes of course it works like it shows in the advert, how can you doubt it...

Oh! And by the way, I have a bridge in New York up for sale, can I interest you enough into making me an offer?

Most of these things make my eyes water and want to puke, but maybe I'm just the wrong sex.
They have sold the stuff for years in Europe as Lynx, using the same advert theme.
Then, I see they have updated Old Spice now that had gotten a reputation as something only grandfather's wear.
Nothing wrong with good old soap and water.

"Nothing wrong with good old soap and water"- Oh, I couldn't agree more. But, it's just our opinions. And you know what they're like. Interesting subject though. To each his own.

The crap just gives me headaches. All perfumes and colognes do. I'm just an oddball, I guess

Oh true and I wasn't seeking to force soap and water down anyone's throat (if you'll aprdon the metaphor) - it was more an echo of my grandmother and her 'views' on cosmetics generally and male 'enhancements' in particular. ;)
I have worn Lynx, and other products. As long as they don't irritate me then I don't notice them within minutes. I have almost never gone to the extreme of asking someone what they thought - but I have sometimes been told that I smell nice (usually when its just the plain old me).

This reminds me of when I worked at the first grocery store I have worked in my entire employment history. A small group of 15 year old boys came into the store on a Friday night and grabbed a can of Axe spray and sprayed themselves up before putting it back and then they left without paying for it. I would have done something, but I didn't care, I was busy sweeping.

This incident makes me wonder if commercials and the tv industry have really polluted the minds of today's youth.

Anyhow, although I can't remember the name of the scent it is, but I really like how the can with the red and blue dragons on it smells. It smells good, at least to me. I just don't invest much into such cosmetics for men. I'm starting to think it might help me smell even better, even though it's always the good ol' soap and water that knows best.

Of course, it's all a personal opinion on whether somebody smells great w/ our w/out such cosmetics.

This thread has reminded me that I'm almost out of Adidas deoderant and need more...

I've heard of the body spray you're talking about, but I don't have any personal experience with it.

My husband has several colognes that he wears, but I think he smells perfectly yummy regardless of what he's wearing. The other day, in fact, he was wearing a cologne (I forget the name) that he hasn't worn much lately because he's almost out of it. The smell triggered a memory of a happy-nekkid-fun-time. It wasn't a specific memory, but I know that he's worn that particular brand of cologne when we've had sex. I remember it particularly from when we first started dating.

What I like best is the way he smells before he gets out of bed. It's not BO or anything like that, but it's purely HIM, and it drives me crazy. If I were blindfolded, I could pick him out of a lineup just by the way he smells.

I've always considered the cologne choice I use to be akin to wearing a tie. First off you've got to be comfortable with it. It should have a subtle statement and not overpowering. And for understanding the finer details, it should only be shared with someone who is very close to you physically.

And yes, I do have several brands of cologne I wear for different occassions and moods. Scents are a great way to remind people of who you are so be very selective and careful to wear something you feel good in.
