I agree 100% with that statement, Without an emotional connection, I feel empty and unfulfilled. 20 years ago I didnt have that problem

It depends what you want it to mean. I can get a deep love connection with someone, or just have a passing moment of serious lust. Both can mean great sex. Or poor sex, as it would turn out sometimes.

If you "get together" with someone that you know, then it's got meaning of one kind or another already cause you "have history".

If you're jumping into the sack with someone that you don't really know well, presumably, you're doing it because you have an attraction and that can be very interesting too. The roller coaster of emotions in a new relationship is sometimes good medicine. The emotions at play in new romance make you feel alive and vibrant if nothing else, whether you spend all your time wondering and worrying if you'll see the other person again or wondering what he or she is feeling.

Either way it's good. Too many people react by grabbing the remote control and hiding on the coach. Going out and having adventures is much, much better!

It could mean--a sexual release. The physical act may be good as well. Of course, it's easier for it to be not so good, too. People tend to be more forgiving (in all aspects) of those they care for.

I think the orgasms I have had with lovers and strangers are comparable, because within those moments, I am experiencing something beyond the man and even beyond myself. I lose everything in what I am feeling. It is scary at times... I don't care about anything but that intensity.

However (and back to the point), the sex, the lovemaking is always greater and more meaningful (duh) with the one you have an emotional connection with.

I just think the connection makes what is good better...and what is not so good, worth trying to make better!
