True, the Hagar-era VH was as commercially successful as the Roth version was, but how well has that stuff held up 15-20 years later?

It is okay not to like him and for him not to be to your preference, but everyone in the industry comprehends his contribution. He helped Pataki win the NY governorship as well as Gov. Whitman in NJ. He has been influential in many campaigns. But this thread is not about him.

Plus, there's a distinction between where the albums charted at the time and how much they eventually sold. I would bet that Roth-era VH albums outsell Hagar-era albums today by a huge margin, and have consistently done so for the last decade.
