Over at Saint Pia Zadora Thridt Shoppe I bought an old grammar book, I have plenty of grammar books, and this is the very first grammar book that is simple and easy for me to understand. In the first chapter I finally grasped what a few things are, and I was amazed. Once I read the material it all made sense.

I wonder why that is? I know that the same class of problem exists in math, I usta assess kids for learning disabilities, and send remedial reports back to school so the kid could learn the math.

So maybe I have my own learning disability with reading. If the words fail to fit a specific lock my mind stays shut.

I don't think you are alone in this. Sometimes the education/journalistic types fail to communicate, but they blame it on the consumers.
Just like our schools fail to engage some kids and then the system blames them for the failure, rather than reconsidering the curriculum or teaching effectiveness.

I spent many years studying communications and the originator must shape his message so that the receiver can make sense of it. Anything less is just noise to the receiver, and therefore not communication.

That does not mean that every story, HAS to move every person the same way.

I'm a wiz at geometry but back in high school I made D's in geometry. Later, going thru a 4 year sheet metal pattern making school, I aced it cuz the instructor had a genius for the subject and knew how to get the knowledge across. It truly is noise when you cant make sense of the message. The grammar book I read last night says the same thing: Readers prefer writers who make sense, and grammar aint nuthin but the logical organization of words.
