Does moving become less stressful, once the removal lorry arrives?

Hopefully yes.

Only if you already have everything already packed.

My eldest daughter, as far as I know has not a lot to pack. She moved from her mom's----> in with her older brother and his friends. She knew I had to pack up into storage and told me where to BUY boxes. I am a born scrounge the last thing I would consider spending actual hard earned money on is boxes. Available for free, anytime, in dumpsters in every town in America.

So.

I took her advice. Turns out, they are not that expensive and it is so nice to have ones that fit back together properly, tape up easy, and stack uniformly. I like how well I packed up my stuff so much, that I may never unpack all of my little treasures.

Let someone be thrilled with the haul on the show "Storage Wars."

Moving is only less stressful once you've settled all your stuff into your new place. And then a month later you're sitting on your sofa/couch/deewan and realise that something is still not right so you move everything around and then finally you find some peace.

Just don't forget to breathe, and clear an area for pacing back and forth. :)

Hopefully yes.

It depends on the skill of the removal men.

The best, and usually the more expensive ones, pack, label, move, place and unpack everything while you sit in a convenient location ready to answer any queries. (Usually the kitchen so you can keep them supplied with tea/coffee)

When we moved house 30+ years ago, the removal men did all that, or would have done expect that there was a 12-hour delay in getting the previous owner's possessions out (a long story). The removal men had to pile all the upstairs items except the large furniture in a downstairs room.

But over the next few days we could move the clearly labelled boxes into the appropriate upstairs room.

They cost about 30% more than the lowest quote, but that extra 30% was well spent.

Hopefully yes.
Not for me, at least not anymore.
Last time I moved someone in the moving crew (a major national moving company) stole about $20,000 worth of stuff between the time they left the old house and arrived at the new house.

Cannot praise them enough. All moved very professionally. Nothing broken. The hi fi is set up and now just 20 boxes of books to sort.
The kettle was first thing offf the lorry

Tea, coffee, if you have a bakery in your village, then bacon sandwiches as well.
And if they do a good job, a tip is appropriate. It depends on how many removal men you have.
