No, sillies...I am not trying to inflame someone...but I have noticed threads or posts that are directed at people (yes, where there are names posted) and those people never bother to respond but others do.

Do you continue to post things in the hopes that your "target" will answer...or do you give up and go look for new game?

The only reason that I am seeing this now is that I don't get on here quite as much and when I do, I have a habit of reading more than posting. It is sort of wild what one comes across...anyways the above question occurred to me...hence, the thread.

Seriously, depends on who's doing which to whom. With the trolls, it just gets boring after a while to respond to them. Eventually you just give up beating your head against a brick wall.

I pretty much don't care if the trolls respond, either. They never have anything particularly interesting to say.

The rest of the time it's either:

a) someone's gone offline and doesn't wanna bump it back up later.

b) they're too stupid to think of a retort, so they pretend they're "above" answering.

c) there really is no point in answering.

Trolling, after all, is short for "trolling for newbies", wherein you hang something silly out for people to grab onto so you can laugh at them....it doesn't have to be mean or nasty, something apparently lost I think in the more narrow use of the word "troll" here.
