Does it annoy anyone else when.....

Ok, so we all have things that annoy us, perhaps irrationally, when we see them. I thought it would be good to get them off your chest, and who knows, you may find mutual irritatees!

I'll start!

I never get when responding to a post on a website, in this case Reddit, people feel the need to say they have sent a PM in the comment section. The person who has posted will see who has sent messages, there is really no need to point it out! It really winds me up!

Agreed!

It annoys me when I'm chatting and then get dropped without a word, while the person I'm chatting to is still on the forum and still active! At least have the decency to say ," I've had a better offer!"

oh I definitely agree with that one.

If a conversation is boring you, or simply not working for whatever reason, at least say goodbye!

Oh, I can always rely on your to being the sunshine to a thread Elli!

I thought I'd get the biggest reason for annoyance out the way before talking about pet peeves. Now I'm realising that most other things that annoy me have to do with humans.

I once was chatting on pm's with someone who seemed very interested in taking it further, so I offered my skype, and we connected there. I was under the impression that we'd stay there, and maybe things would develop. Instead, he went quiet on skype and after a little while I came back to Lit, to see him still active on threads and flirting with all the other women. I guess not, then! :D

It happens a surprising amount....

The question is, how long do you wait for a reply until you either ask them whats going on, or move on to something else?

I pretty much pm'd him straight away, explained that I felt a bit offended by his behaviour but ultimately told him that I clearly made a mistake on offering skype, thanked him for his time, and said I hoped he enjoyed the rest of the day on Lit. He did reply, apologise and if I remember correctly - his reason was that he didn't realise that my offering skype meant 'more'. I accepted his apology, but moved along anyway.

A geordie lass wouldn’t put up with that like

I don't. I get that misunderstandings happen, but sometimes they happen in such a way that it does pretty much kill any previous fun. My resuscitation skills aren't that good.

What a prick! :D

Just a little respect, thats all it takes!

I don't think he was a prick lol. Thoughtless, maybe. I think that we were clearly lacking something, not quite matching right, to have such a misunderstanding. I'm sure that with someone else, he's great.

Haha! Is that ALL it takes? :p *I'll respect you, baby. I'll respect the shit out of you, now just show me your tits*.

ha! yes, I want to respectfully oggle your boobies

Skype is a whole new ball game!

I find I will get given a Skype address, add the person - then they are never on! I always explain i am only on in the afternoon Uk times...i often have a clear out and delete any Skype contact that doesn't appear or messages me after a couple of weeks.

Conversely, on the topic of Skype, does it annoy anyone else when messages don't come through promptly? Maybe it's some strange artifact of my 'phone, but I often need to refresh the app manually in order to force it to notify me of new messages. In some cases, it's taken me many hours to find them and I suspect that the person who is trying to talk to me thinks that I've lost interest and drifted away when I haven't.
.

When someone only replies to certain people even though they have clearly been addressed or commented on their post they float right over you and comment on someone else's post. That's just rude and shallow.

absolutely. It should be some type of Lit Law, with proper Lit punishment.

I always hate when I accidentally do that, usually because I took too long to say whatever I was typing and someone posted in between.

I've been known to post 2 or 3 times in a row to try to "fix it"

<--- Never replies to PMs and I am a human. Two strikes against me.

My biggest pet peeve is when people write in yellow chiffon. I mean seriously who does that crap??:mad:
